Paris Hilton Grants a Wish

It's every girl's dream to visit PARIS HILTON's closet, and today the heiress is making one little girl's birthday dreams come true.

"I'm really excited to meet you and I know tomorrow's your birthday," Paris tells 16-year-old AMBER. "I just wanted to show you my house and also give you a surprise!"

Amber is a "Make-A-Wish Foundation®" child who was diagnosed at 14 with thyroid cancer and had to have most of the gland removed. She has been in remission for two years.

The foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions and enables them to do extraordinary things like meet their favorite celebrities or take extravagant trips.

When asked what her wish was, Amber didn't hesitate. "I said I wanted to meet Paris Hilton!" she exclaimed.

Naturally, she was thrilled when the socialite invited her and our CHERYL WOODCOCK into her Los Angeles home and showed her rack after rack of designer dresses, bags and shoes.

"This is the dress I wore in the Guess? campaign," she tells Amber of a gorgeous hot pink, halter gown.

Then she took Amber shopping on Rodeo Drive at upscale boutique Kaje, jeweler Mikimoto and over to the world-famous JOSE EBER salon for hair and makeup.

"I can't even explain how I feel," Amber enthuses after her day of glamour. "It's so amazing!"

You know, that's kinda sweet.

IAWTC <3
[info]_ballerinagirl 29th-Mar-2006 06:36 pm (UTC)
Yeah, that was very very nice of Paris. :)
[info]italyanbaci 29th-Mar-2006 07:42 pm (UTC)
i think so too=)
[info]chana 29th-Mar-2006 08:25 pm (UTC)
agreed
[info]chemical 30th-Mar-2006 01:49 am (UTC)
Agreed.
[info]velvetunicorn 30th-Mar-2006 02:30 am (UTC)
that was really sweet
[info]ladycakes 29th-Mar-2006 07:33 am (UTC)
oh what fucking bullshit.

Thyroid cancer is very very rarely terminal. And who the fuck makes a wish to see that moron's closet? Fucking crappy publicity stunt. I am so tired of this game.
[info]theburkett 29th-Mar-2006 07:33 am (UTC)
never the less its cancer, tard.
[info]ladycakes 29th-Mar-2006 07:35 am (UTC)
I had thyroid cancer...it ain't no big thing.
[info]de_wood 29th-Mar-2006 07:39 am (UTC)
Green's not a good color on you.
[info]thevelvetsun 29th-Mar-2006 07:40 am (UTC)
God forbid us healthy people don't get our wishes.

The girl came away happy and Paris got some publicity. No harm done.
[info]touchofmascara 29th-Mar-2006 07:44 am (UTC)
How many people actually request Paris Hilton for their wish? I bet Paris Hilton's PR team was waiting for something like this to pop up, so the bitch can get some good press. They were lucky to get a cancer patient at all, they probably would have settled for some dude with mono.
[info]fwapachino 29th-Mar-2006 07:54 am (UTC)
wow. you are such an asshole
[info]rockculture 29th-Mar-2006 08:32 am (UTC)
Different cancers effect different people in different ways, though. This girl's cancer might have gone untreated long enough to where it had spread to some of her other major systems, or deep enough to where they weren't able to remove all of the tumor, making her prognosis less favorable than someone who caught it and treated it early. I'm glad (from reading down) that you're alright, though.
[info]tokincarebear 29th-Mar-2006 08:42 am (UTC)
I agree! I don't think she would be doing this "good deed" if there was no cameras around
[info]antimonkeytrust 29th-Mar-2006 09:16 am (UTC)
this "fucking crappy publicity stunt" attracted new donors to the organization.
[info]me_quieres 29th-Mar-2006 12:52 pm (UTC)
Oh, so you would've liked it if Paris would've declined a girl's dying wish?

You're ridiculous.
[info]superuber 29th-Mar-2006 03:38 pm (UTC)
Then stop reading about it and move on. I hate Paris as much as the next person but fucking come on.

It's not like the girl had the sniffles and Paris did this. And of course it's a publicity stunt the whole thing basically is but that's not the point.
[info]theburkett 29th-Mar-2006 07:33 am (UTC)
I love you PARIS.
[info]matinee_idyll 29th-Mar-2006 09:19 am (UTC)
Loving the icon!
[info]xlikewolvesx 29th-Mar-2006 07:34 am (UTC)
well that was nice.
[info]touchofmascara 29th-Mar-2006 07:35 am (UTC)
The whole Make a Wish Foundation is just some PR worker's wet dream. I wish people would donate to an actual charity.
[info]lush_1984 29th-Mar-2006 08:11 am (UTC)
until you or your child or someone elses child whom you know, has racked up thousands of hospital bills and the parents have remortgaged their house twice over and all she/ he wants before they die is to meet someone famous...then yeah its a PR workers wet dream....
[info]touchofmascara 29th-Mar-2006 08:16 am (UTC)
Why is that The Insider has to videotape this "Charity"? I agree that it can make a difference in the brief life of a terminal patient - but I am sick of C-list celebrities like Paris milking it for all it is worth.
[info]writish303 29th-Mar-2006 09:08 am (UTC)
you took the words right out of my mouth
[info]oldincisions 29th-Mar-2006 08:45 am (UTC)
that is complete and utter bullshit, i think that you need to get your facts straight before you go insulting such an amazing organization. there is no way you could understand how the make a wish foundation helped my family when my brother was terminally ill, and to say that it is not an actual charity is rediculous. i know everyone is entitled to their own opinions but given my personal experience with them i'm not going to sit here and let you talk bad about them.
[info]writish303 29th-Mar-2006 09:09 am (UTC)
Yah I really wouldn't say shit like that unless you've been close to someone who had their wish granted.
[info]hellokitylovr15 29th-Mar-2006 01:13 pm (UTC)
For real though--- I don't think Paris is exactly "hurting" for publicity.

I think for once she did something NICE and helpful, instead of shop/fuck ugly dudes 24/7...
[info]dultz 29th-Mar-2006 04:18 pm (UTC)
Maybe you should try to volunteer sometime.

Although they do say that ignorance is bliss.
[info]me_quieres 29th-Mar-2006 04:24 pm (UTC)
Maybe if you actually volunteered at Give Kids the World (which comes from the Make a Wish Foundation), then your statement would have some validity. Otherwise, don't speak about things you don't understand.
[info]albeit_ 29th-Mar-2006 07:35 am (UTC)
i definitely thought that all paris did to grant this girl's wish was show her everything in her closet and say, "o hay, i have a lot of shoes!" and i was like, wtf.
[info]theradiostatic 29th-Mar-2006 10:54 am (UTC)
Hahahah me too.
[info]emobus 29th-Mar-2006 07:35 am (UTC)

Oh and you have a funny last name, CHERYL WOODCOCK.

Hmmm... You're back. Welcome.
[info]mattel_recall 29th-Mar-2006 07:36 am (UTC)
And what happened then? Well, in Whoville they say that the Grinch's small heart grew three sizes that day. And then the true meaning of Christmas came through, and the Grinch found the strength of ten Grinches plus two.
[info]thevelvetsun 29th-Mar-2006 07:38 am (UTC)
You win!

i think its worrying that a 14 yr old girl would choose paris hilton as her idol, and her parents would choose to support that. egads.

[info]de_wood 29th-Mar-2006 08:09 am (UTC)

[info]charmedkisses1 29th-Mar-2006 07:38 am (UTC)
I hope Paris bought her a lot of shit.
[info]thevelvetsun 29th-Mar-2006 07:39 am (UTC)
"Here's some cool stores that are way too good for you. Don't touch my credit card, bitch!"
[info]charmedkisses1 29th-Mar-2006 09:46 am (UTC)
... what's sad is I can see her doing that.

"God this looks purrrrfect on me! I'm so hot! Why are you turning blue?
[info]dogscanlookup 29th-Mar-2006 07:39 am (UTC)
If my kid wished for that, I'd slap the cancer right ou of her.

HAHA. I don't know what's more worrying, your kid having cancer or your kid worshipping Paris.
[info]espressoshot 29th-Mar-2006 07:39 am (UTC)

If I really want to see Paris Hilton's closet, I'll go to some skank store like Wet Seal (rumored to be closing down btw even tho I really don't shop there..)

[info]_ballerinagirl 29th-Mar-2006 06:40 pm (UTC)
noooo really?

Is Arden B closing down too, bc they own them
[info]espressoshot 1st-Apr-2006 08:01 am (UTC)

Technically, Wet Seal is looking into improving itself for its demographic. They are thinking of doing something like H&M...

If they really want to improve something.. they can start on the crappy material they make their clothes with. Fo sho!
[info]macaroni1213 29th-Mar-2006 07:40 am (UTC)
Well despite the fact that I'm slightly disturbed this girl would want to meet Paris Hilton, it was a cute story, and I like anything that makes Paris seem a bit more...human.

I smell a little BS, but overall I thought it was a cute story.
