Breaking Bad Returns to Biggest Ratings Ever





AMC’s critical darling Breaking Bad returned Sunday night with a tense episode that delivered its highest ratings ever.

A total of 2.6 million viewers and 1.5 million adults 18-49 tuned into the premiere telecast, up a whopping 30 percent from its third season debut more than a year ago. That’s still down slightly from the fourth season debut of Mad Men, for those keeping score on that front, though edges out the Madison Ave. drama in the adult demo.

Breaking Bad has managed the rather improbable feat of growing in the ratings every season on AMC (I mean, it’s only improbable when you look at how ratings normally behave, not if you’re a fan of the show).

Good. I had such high expectations for the premiere and it didn't disappoint. I'm so so happy it's back. I'm just terrified at where Jesse's going to end up this season.

Emmys 2012: outstanding supporting actor in a drama is obviously between Aaron Paul and Giancarlo Esposito. And it's about time this show won for directing, writing and outstanding drama series.

Some may consider this a spoiler but it's just casting news so be warned I guess.

+ is Gus going to die? Esposito was just cast in Once Upon a Time; all I can find is that it's a recurring role.

Giancarlo is so fucking skilled that he doesn't even have to move a single muscle in his face and you can still tell when he's seething with rage. Talent yo.

I am so impressed by the direction on the series-- it's really thoughtful the way the scenes are shot. EXCEPT for the inanimate object POV shots. Those are the only things I dislike about the show.
I was surprised the blood/ketchup transition wasn't shot through glass so we'd see it from the perspective of the lab floor and the plate.

Yeah, the direction and cinematography of the show is underrated.

The transition from the gif above with the ketchup to blood "cleanup" are little details which add a lot to the show

i watched it again today and i love the look on walt's face when he hears that gale is gone

he turns to jesse and looks shocked and horrified and omg its exactly what i was feeling

Oh god the premiere was flawless. Gus now officially scares the shot out of me. He was ominous before, but now he's full on terrifying. He and Aaron Paul are gonna dominate the Supporting Actors next year (or else I'll cut a bitch).
