Lindsay Lohan says she should never have gone to jail.
The 'Mean Girls' actress - who recently completed her 35-day house arrest, which was in lieu of jail time for her stealing a necklace from an upmarket boutique and violating the terms of her 2007 conviction for driving under the influence (DUI) - spent time behind bars for the violation of her probation last year but feels she was treated very harshly.
Asked what she thought of her sentence, Lindsay said: "Unless you're a killer, I don't see a reason to stay there. I never hurt anyone but myself."
Lindsay says she wants to put all her problems behind her and concentrate on her acting career, after signing up to appear in mob movie 'Gotti: Three Generations'.
She told Vanity Fair Italy: "In October, I'll begin work. I hope to spend next year on set."
Lindsay - who completed a three-month court-ordered rehab stint in January after being released from prison - recently revealed she has made "a lot of mistakes" in her life.
The 25-year-old star - who shot to fame in 1998 Disney film 'The Parent Trap' at the age of just 11 - said: "I think that being young and in the position that I was in you don't really take the time to appreciate what you have. It was all a whirlwind but I'm not a kid anymore I'm 24 and I've made a lot of mistakes but I feel like if I can just stay focused I can achieve what I want to achieve."

Not that I think she is right (I don't), but I think you are being overly nit-picky. I REALLY DO NOT THINK SHE THINKS RAPISTS SHOULD GO FREE.
1) she hurt me and others in cali with making us spend our tax dollars on her ass.
2) She hurt people by buying coke which puts money into the drug world in our country which is known for being fucked up and causing other crimes for control of the drug money. Not to mention the way her thousands upon thousands of dollars fuel the mexican drug war that kills lots of people. And the girls and guys who swallow and shove coke up their asses to get it here, which some of them die from, just so she can get her high.
3) Stealing from a store hurts their business and steal indirectly effects other consumers by driving up their prices.
