Bob Barker Helps Save Bolivian Lions!
Former 'The Price Is Right' host Bob Barker helps lions seized from Bolivian circuses
LOS ANGELES - Three of 29 lions seized from circuses in Bolivia and airlifted to the United States, thanks in part to Bob Barker, were released today in what Animal Defenders International called the largest big-cat habitat in the country.
Bolivia became the first country in South America to outlaw the use of animals in circuses last year, and the 87-year-old former "Price Is Right" host paid for the seized animals to be airlifted to Denver, where they have spent months getting checked out by veterinarians and having their teeth fixed at the Wild Animal Sanctuary.
"This has been a landmark operation in so many ways," Animal Defenders International chief executive Jan Creamer said. "First in how ADI worked with the Bolivian authorities to orchestrate all of the seizures. It shows how a government can pass bold animal protection measures and work with a group like ADI to ensure enforcement."
Today, three of the rehabilitated lions will be released into a savannah-like habitat on the plains of eastern Colorado, with water and underground dens.

"Seeing these lions enjoying the freedom they deserve will hopefully also send a loud message that it is time to ban the use of wild animals in circuses here in the USA," Creamer said.
ADI, founded in the United Kingdom in 1990, expanded to the United States in 2006 and has offices in Los Angeles, London and Bogota, Colombia.
A total of 29 lions were airlifted to Colorado, four others to California.

Who was I thinking of, I wonder.
though I'm ignorant. Why are they protesting the movie, specifically? Because they don't believe zoos are good/right?
There is also allegation that the giraffe that died, Tweet, after filming did so because of cruel treatment on set.
