New album "What Matters Most - Barbra Streisand Sings the Lyrics of Alan & Marilyn Bergman" coming August 23
JUNE 27, 2011, 6:00 am
The new album, which Barbra personally produced, features ten Bergman songs which she has never previously recorded. Included in the set are the Academy Award-winning song “The Windmills of Your Mind” from the 1968 film The Thomas Crown Affair, “So Many Stars” which was a hit for Sergio Mendes & Brazil ’66, “Nice ‘n’ Easy” as popularized by Frank Sinatra, and “That Face” as first recorded by Fred Astaire.
Reflecting on her long-held desire to devote an entire album to the amazingly varied and consistently inspired music of the Bergmans, Barbra noted, “Alan and Marilyn have a remarkable gift for expressing affairs of the heart.”
The affection and respect between the lyricists and the artist is quite wonderful, as the Bergmans continued, “When we write a song, we hear Barbra. She makes the connection from the heart to the mind, and it emerges through her voice.”
Also available August 23 will be a deluxe edition of What Matters Most including ten additional, previously released performances of Barbra singing Bergman classics like “The Way We Were,” “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers,” “Papa Can You Hear Me?” and “Pieces of Dreams.”

Flawless, legend, icon, Dowager Empress Of Pop, your faves will never have her career, more awards and Gold records than your faves, etc. Why the old ass pic for the cover tho? I swear this pic is at least two years old. Too lazy for a new photoshoot, ma'am?
Queen Barbrallah to release new album August 23 while your faves tremble with fear.

She sings so powerfully yet effortlessly in this special.
Actually I don't think she's ever given a bad performance of anything ever but that's beside the point.
The end.

just because the Queen of Music and the Queen of Disco coming together is too amazing to fathom
there was actual thought going into Enough Is Enough, unlike the copy and paste job that was the S&M remix
Don't put up with his shit
Get it over
Beat him up with a stick
Get it over
XD
None of my other faves could ever. None of my faves HAVE ever. 50, 51 Gold albums? I think not.
My two faves in one song, I cannot even deal. blackladyfaintingwhileothersfanher.gif

Also, anyone else here born on a cusp? We be fiiiiierce as fuuuq
(Swings some cold sweet tea and goes back to napping on the old porch swing.)
You will deal.
I can't decide which flawless legendary gender-bender I prefer - Barbrallah as Yentl or Julie Andrewsus as Victor in Victor/Victoria.
This song never fails to bring out MY CREYS
Her older fans still buy CD's so she might make a ton of money
