Game of Thrones: Where Have We Seen Them Before?

Oftentimes while watching HBO's new series Game of Thrones, I'll get confused. Not because of the plot; reading the books has helped my understanding of what's going on in Westeros and beyond so much. No, I'm often confused by familiar faces. I've seen them before, I'll think. Haven't I?
Sometimes it's hard to tell, but after some investigations into IMDb, I think I've found quite a few of the connections I've been missing. I've compiled them into a slideshow for you, just in case you've been having the same problems. Even if you haven't been troubled by the cast of Game of Thrones, maybe this slideshow will help you make some connections -- I'm sure there are some connections in here that you'll recognize. Some of the actors, especially the child ones, have no previous roles, or at least no widely-seen previous roles, meaning that for actors such as Emilia Clarke (Daenerys) and Kit Harington (Jon Snow), we'll just have to be watching for them in the future.
Game of Thrones episode eight, "The Pointy End," airs on Sunday, June 5 at 9/8c.
We'll start with the obvious one, shall we? Sean Bean's Eddard "Ned" Stark is the de facto main character of the show. He's an honorable man thrown into a world of intrigue he just isn't prepared for. Bean's played a similarly oblivious character before, in a similar setting...

Boromir (Lord of the Rings): In 2001, Bean appeared in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, in which he played Boromir, one member of the titular fellowship. Boromir, like Stark, was out of his depth and didn't realize it, though this time it was because of the terrible power of the One Ring, not the scheming Lannister family.

Natalia Tena (Osha)
We met Osha in "The Golden Crown," and she looked pretty gnarly as she attempted to rob Bran Stark of his horse. She'll be recurring in the future, if the HBO website is to be believed, but we've seen actress Natalia Tena before...

Nymphadora Tonks (Harry Potter): Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix introduced the character of Nymphadora Tonks, perhaps Tena's biggest role to date. Tonks, who can change her appearance at will, reappears in subsequent entries of the series, and will reprise her role for one final time in July's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2.

Jason Momoa's character Khal Drogo is a person of few words. In fact, his role might be the most difficult because most of his dialogue is in an entirely different language -- one that was created for the show, at that. Have we ever been able to understand Momoa?...

Ronon Dex (Stargate: Atlantis): We have! In Stargate: Atlantis's second season, we were introduced to the character Ronon Dex, played by Momoa. He replaced outgoing character Aiden Ford and became a fan favorite for the show until Stargate: Atlantis called it quits in 2009.

John Amsterdam (New Amsterdam): FOX's short-lived series New Amsterdam starred Coster-Waldau as John Amsterdam, an ageless detective. New Amsterdam only lasted eight episodes. Coster-Waldau also starred in the snubbed FOX pilot Virtuality before being cast in Game of Thrones.

Harry Lloyd might have finished up his role as Viserys Targaryen on Game of Thrones, but he's already been a part of another great sci-fi series...

Jeremy Baines/Son of Mine (Doctor Who): Lloyd played Son of Mine in the two-part Doctor Who episode "Human Nature"/"The Family of Blood." The bloodthirsty "son" of the telepathic family takes over the form of schoolboy Jeremy Baines in the first half of the episode, leaving Lloyd to provide a campy/creepy performance as the possessed psychopathic alien.

Here's another easy one. Lena Headey is currently starring as the manipulative Cersei Lannister in Game of Thrones. But she's played royalty before...

Aiden Gillen (Petyr "Littlefinger" Baelish)

Tommy Carcetti (The Wire): It was on HBO, as a matter of fact! Gillen played politician Tommy Carcetti in the Baltimore-set The Wire, one of the best television shows to ever grace our screens. While Gillen plays politics well in both The Wire and Game of Thrones, he's also quite magnetic in the British cop show Identity, which is being remade for the U.S. by ABC.

Personally, I remember him best from Queer as Folk

Bonus From Me!
Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister)

He's been in SO many things, but I know him best from the Narnia movies. But there's also Nip/Tuck, Elf, Penelope, 30 Rock and Death at a Funeral.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

He is amazing in "Death at a Funeral", both the UK and US. I try to pretend that the US one doesn't exist though.

I SAW HIM IN WARHORSE AND IT WAS THE MOST FLAWLESS, TEAR JERKING THING I HAVE EVER EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE.
UNLESS I TOTALLY MISSED IT AND HES ON THERE......
BUT ANYWAY WARHORSE = THE BEST THING EVER.
Tyrion Lannister is my favorite. He's fierce. Especially when her slapped Jofre.
But I need to discuss with someone that last episode. SHIT WAS CRAZY.
I freakin' knew what was going to happen but I still gasped and was all OH MAH GAWD.
"HONOR?! YEAH, WELL NOW YOU'VE GOT A KNIFE TO YOUR THROAT. YOU DON'T DEPOSE AN UNRIGHTFUL KING AND HIS RICH AS FUCK FAMILY WITH JUST HONOR."
I keep hoping something terrible will happen to him
/has already read spoilers
So jealous that he's Lisa Bonet's bubala.
