Katt Williams Weighs In on Celebrity Religious Debate

Comedian Katt Williams has stepped into the religious/philosophical battle between British physicist Stephen Hawking and born-again sitcom actor Kirk Cameron.

For those unaware, Hawking, who is an atheist, told a reporter for the British newspaper The Guardian that he didn’t believe in an afterlife. He believes that the brain is a computer, and when you die the computer shuts down. "There is no heaven or afterlife for broken down computers,” said Hawking, who suffers from a debilitating neurological illness. “That is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark." Taking offense, Cameron, a devote (devout?) Christian, responded by telling E!Online: "To say anything negative about Stephen Hawking is like bullying a blind man. He has an unfair disadvantage, and that gives him a free pass on some of his absurd ideas.”

TMZ caught up with Katt Williams in L.A. and asked him his views on the debate. "If [Stephen Hawking] doesn't believe in God, then he's just another cripple guy with a bad idea." On Cameron, the MIA comedian said, "Kirk Cameron is brilliant," later adding, "God still runs this earth, Satan's breath still stinks."

Thisssss. I'm a Christian but I can't stand when other Christians try to force their opinions on others and I can't stand when atheists try to judge people for actually believing in God or questioning them about it.

For me personally, I'd rather believe when I die there's something more, rather than just think it's the end and that's it. But I wouldn't force that upon others.

speaking as an atheist i'd like to note that it's prob because most christians~ (in america) are hypocrites (not very christianlike) and also they ignore scientific facts in favor of the bible...obv this does not apply to EVERY SINGLE christian in america, but the ones that are like that leave a very very bad taste in ppl's mouths. and tbh i feel like i DO have to choose between science and religion (i know not everyone feels that way, but i do)...i believe in multi-verses and i cannot reconcile the smallness of my existence w/ the concept of a christian god...anyways, i do judge ppl (just like they judge me) and i'm pretty outspoken about atheism here on ontd, but irl i'm pretty respectful :)
