Sarah Jessica Parker has ruled out a 'Sex And the City' film.

The sexy actress, who played Carrie Bradshaw in the hit US series, insists she has no intention of reuniting with her co-stars - Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon - for a movie based on the show. Sarah claims a big-screen adaptation would be impossible to shoot because the production team destroyed the old sets.
She said: "I really don't think that will happen now. The sets were literally thrown away."
Meanwhile, Sarah has laughed off claims she didn't get on with 'Failure to Launch' co-star Matthew McConaughey. The beautiful star insists she found the hunky actor "a pleasure to work with" - despite movie insiders claiming he couldn't bear her.

SatC is over, people. It's time to come to terms with it.

I cringe everytime I see it. It really doesn't age well. It was so trendy at the time, that now it's just so dated.

Me too. I watched it a couple months ago and was like, "Seriously, I used to actually care about these storylines?"
agoraroarasuras 15th-Mar-2006 05:17 pm (UTC)
I am the only one of all my GFs who hates that show(SatC). Along with Desperate Housesluts =/

Some episodes are funny though, I must admit.
pink_diva_xo 15th-Mar-2006 06:01 pm (UTC)
ughhh desperate housesluts lolol i hate that fucking pathetic excuse for a show!
ellinorianne 15th-Mar-2006 06:33 pm (UTC)
Especially since I've read about there not being a movie for like a year now?
jess2002far 15th-Mar-2006 07:35 pm (UTC)
thank god, I thought I was the only one who realized this...
agoraroarasuras 15th-Mar-2006 05:15 pm (UTC)
SJP looks like a foot.
xmint 15th-Mar-2006 05:19 pm (UTC)
This is a good thing. SJP and the big screen have never been friends.
pink_diva_xo 15th-Mar-2006 06:02 pm (UTC)
agreed.. i feel like every movie she does, shes just another Carrie.
surfhus 15th-Mar-2006 06:35 pm (UTC)
yes
everytime i see her on a movie or anything on tv all i can think of is carrie!
androganus 16th-Mar-2006 03:06 am (UTC)
Third. All the actresses are pretty much ruined. Whenever theres an interview its like "so anyway about Sex & the City...." and they seem to have put too much of themselves into the characters so they constantly seem to never to be able to get away from them.
shawnyspice 15th-Mar-2006 07:50 pm (UTC)
I disagree, "Hocus Pocus" will always be a cinematic delight!

"A muck, a muck, a muck, a muck!"
xdecadentx 15th-Mar-2006 05:21 pm (UTC)
the 'beautiful' star?

was whoever wrote this blind???

SatC was good at the time, but now...meh. Carrie was just so damn annoying she ruined the program
vellise8 15th-Mar-2006 05:29 pm (UTC)
lol at MM not getting along with SJP. i believe it. she's a stick in the mud.
asininehopes 15th-Mar-2006 06:06 pm (UTC)
I don't care what anyone says, SJP is a classy lady in my book...
sexyisjulia 15th-Mar-2006 06:18 pm (UTC)
SJP was on a radio station over here in the detroit area last year and said SATC would come together for another 8 episodes. but that never happened. i agree though, a movie is too much
ellinorianne 15th-Mar-2006 06:35 pm (UTC)
Is that you Whitney?
sexyisjulia 15th-Mar-2006 06:37 pm (UTC)

ellinorianne 15th-Mar-2006 06:41 pm (UTC)

radiokink 15th-Mar-2006 07:07 pm (UTC)
Beautiful actress? I just don't see it.
savannarama 15th-Mar-2006 07:11 pm (UTC)
"The sets were thrown away"--that's a hilarious excuse. Sets could easily be redone if there was to be a movie. I think it's a combination of many, many things...there probably isn't quite enough interest to make it a blockbuster, which is embarrassing even if the movie does okay, the storyline is very much wrapped up already (this is no "Firefly" or "Carnivale"), all of the actresses have reasonable talent and don't need to be typecast or associated with SATC for the rest of their lives--but to say so sounds ungrateful and rude to the fans (so it's nice to be polite and lie). There was also difficulty in getting Kim Cattral on board, and that makes for sour publicity.

A movie is just unnecessary for so many reasons, but SJP is too polite to say so.
touchofmascara 15th-Mar-2006 07:30 pm (UTC)
Yeah, that is is what I thought when I heard the set BS. Set designers can replicate anything.

Once SJP ages a little more harshly, and can't find any good roles, there will be a SATC movie because she won't have much else going for her. Too bad the Failure to Launch 24 mil opening set us back a few years. Why did people pay to see that movie!!?
androganus 16th-Mar-2006 03:11 am (UTC)
You cant help who you love. Who falls in love with the safe boring good guy? Not too many people, and you know the ones I know who married the one they should,a few years later they were bored to tears and fucking miserable. Either they felt stuck and stayed that way or got out and regretted it. I know I dumped plenty of good guys, because I just couldnt help not loving them.
Agree shes fugly, charming but fugly.
motherginsberg 15th-Mar-2006 11:30 pm (UTC)
Ive never been able to get into SaTC as I cant relate to a single character.

"Omg, I'm just a writer but where are my 30th new pair of PRADA shoes?!"
"Ewww, the only borough I EVER deal with is Manhattan, ewww"

It's such classist boobery, and since "fashion" is such a big deal on the show---- a lot of their outfits look uncomfortable, not-age appropriate, and hideous.

The show is indeed for rich gay guys and their lonely faghags.

Ive seen a few episodes but the only character I liked was that guy from Office Space... and that's only because he rules.

androganus 16th-Mar-2006 03:13 am (UTC)
Aw poo. Its not all about shoes.
How about the episode where one of them was on a diet and dug the browies in foil out of the garbage because they wanted more? I have done that! Thats relateable!
Some of the outfits are cute some are horrid. Every guy I know thats straight hates it though, I can only blab about it to my gay friends.
monroe85 16th-Mar-2006 11:04 am (UTC)
Your rich gay guy and lonely fag hag part made me laugh. Probably because I love the show and am a self-confessed fag hag. Its not an intentional thing, but whenever I go out I tend to 'pick up' more gay guys than straight guys. Apparently it has to do with my shoes. Its gotten to the point where my friends tease me about it. One of my best friends was going out with a director whose latest film had this actor in it that I thought was hot and I asked for a set-up and she replied "Sorry, hon, his gay. Actually, with your track record, that'll work to your advantage." I'm only 21, so at the moment its okay. Mostly because I don't want a boyfriend and enjoy having cute guyfriends that I get to hug and they tell me I'm beautiful without wanting sex. Works for me. If it's still like this when I'm 31...then that would be lonely and pathetic.

In seriousness though, my favorite thing about SATC was the friendship and the bond that the four girls have. At the core of most shows that don't do with crime, romantic relationships seemed to be the complete core. And while SATC definetly revolved around love and obviouslty sex and romantic relationships, at the heart of it had to do with this tight bond of friends and I loved that 'cause, to paraphase Carrie in one episode, "Men die first. So at the end of it, its going to be all of us old ladies, riding the bus."

I have to stop this whole rambling thing.

Also, I really should start to read through my comments before I post them to make sure that it all actually makes sense and that I don't have random typos and grammatical mistakes.
motherginsberg 15th-Mar-2006 11:32 pm (UTC)
i keep hearing SJP is a beotch, I'd love to hear some anecdotes.
rumms 16th-Mar-2006 12:22 am (UTC)
They keep writing these 'sexy actress' and 'beautiful star' epithets as if they're trying desperately to hammer it home. It's kind of embarrassing.
rubinia 16th-Mar-2006 12:51 am (UTC)
I fucking loved her apartment on that show. Those Calvin Klein sheets will be mine one day!!
