A Royal Wedding Saturday round-up post

Clarence House today released the official Royal Wedding album that shows the beaming bride and groom in the throne room at Buckingham Palace.

The newly-titled Duke and Duchess of Cambridge appeared to be lost in matrimonial bliss as they smiled for the traditional wedding day photo album taken by Hugo Burnand.

Newlyweds William and Kate will not go on honeymoon this weekend - and Prince William will be back at work on Monday.
The couple, who flew out of Buckingham Palace this morning, will spend the weekend together at a private location in the UK.
William will return to his job as a search and rescue helicopter pilot next week before the couple finally jet off on their overseas honeymoon at a later date.

After spending their first night as a married couple together at the Palace, they walked out of the Palace casually dressed hand in hand this morning.It had been thought they would take two weeks off for the traditional post-wedding break.

But it appears they want some private time in familiar surroundings after one of the most important days in their life saw their marriage celebrated by the nation and beyond.
They will probably travel to the Queen's Balmoral Estate in Scotland, which will afford them privacy and stunning countryside in which to unwind.

It was the most nerve-wracking moment of the whole day. No, not Kate Middleton walking down the aisle - Prince Harry's best man speech.
He is infamous for his bad jokes and the Queen and Prince Philip opted to stay away from Buckingham Palace as Harry turned Palace jester last night.
And Prince Charles was reportedly in jovial mood - joking about his newly-married son going bald. William hit back with a joked about his father's waistline.

Prince Harry takes the Royal minibus back, while Chelsy travels with Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie

Harry was said to have made a light-hearted best man's speech, laced with jokes at his brother's expense and even some of his more elderly relatives, after an evening dinner hosted by Prince Charles to celebrate Williams' marriage to Kate Middleton in front of 300 guests.

Harry is even reported to have joked about the relative heights of Kate and the Duke of Edinburgh, his grandfather being dwarfed by the new Duchess of Cambridge in her three-inch heels.

Prince William and the Prince of Wales had earlier used parts of their speeches at the Queen's afternoon champagne reception to mock each other, continuing the tradition of father-son speechmaking.

The Prince of Wales drew attention to his son's baldness and, in return, Prince William highlighted his father's waistline.

His father said he hoped Prince William would look after him in old age before joking that William would "push his wheelchair of a cliff".

I didn't really care about this wedding until 6 am yesterday while studying. So beautiful.

me neither, it really was beautiful. Sadly I've become really interested in the royal family because of this.

I used to read about the royal family back when I was 11 or 12, but because of the wedding it's so interesting again.

i've always loved the royal family but my dad and i had the biggest convo this morning about them. i fucking love all of them - i hate people that say they are a waste of money. they're not.

Me either but I tuned in at 6am EST too. I just wanted to see it because it's such a huge event in history. And now I'm stanning so hard LOL.

LOL at the blonde haired boy and blonde haired girl standing behind William in the second picture. They couldn't look less interested. Glad to see even royal children are still just as bored at weddings as other kids.

the blonde girl behind william is prince edward's daughter--iirc, she has exotropia. edward's wife sophie had a lot of trouble conceiving, i think her first pregnancy ended up being ectopic and louise was born like two months premature because of a placenta rupture, so her indifference is probably her eye issue :p
