Titan Comics has announced the launch of a new comic book series based on the popular Fox animation Family Guy.

The publishers have teamed up with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products on the project, which will see Seth MacFarlane's longrunning animation adapted into a monthly comic exclusive to the US.

According to Comic Book Resources, the new series "will follow the Griffin family on a string of brand new outrageous storylines".

In addition to the main members of the iconic Griffin family, it has been confirmed that fan favorite characters like Cleveland Brown and Glen Quagmire will all make regular appearances in the title.

The series will feature artwork from SL Galant, known for his work on G.I. Joe, and former Judge Dredd artist Anthony Williams.

Family Guy is currently airing its ninth season, while spinoff The Cleveland Show is in the middle of its second season for the network.

Family Guy airs Sundays at 9/8c on Fox.

Family Guy #1 will be published in the US on July 27.
