My prom was so mediocre. I was on court but ended up losing to the girl whose mother did the counting...in what world is that fair?

Also, my crush didn't even want to go to prom, so I brought a bunch of friends that were already in college that lived in a completely different city.
I wanted it in kelly green but they didn't have any more and I had to order turquoise instead. It wasn't until like a year later that I found out it was a knock-off of a Valentino dress Salma Hayek wore to the Oscars. http://www.marieclaire.com/cm/marieclai

I tried the dress on originally as a joke because it was so ugly on the hanger but then I actually liked it and bought it... I always liked the hair though!
Sophomore year, 2005; the prom theme was "apocalypse". Needless to say, I went to an alternative school.
My sophomore year (2002) with my senior, redneck, ex-boyfriend. I was heavier around this time than any other year in HS though! D:
Ironically, my date is now actually in a Joy Division tribute band in Seattle.
Even better? I found this "getting ready" photo. Yes, this was back before teenagers discovered irony.The late 80's, (well, 1990) it was a simpler time.
prom 2006. i paid way too much for my dress so we thought it would be a good idea to get my dates outfit from a thrift store. he looked like shit.
I wanted to wear a princess-y dress, since I knew I would probably never get a chance to again, but it ended up being kind of a pain in the butt cause it was really hot/difficult to dance in. Anyway, I'm still really happy that I wore it :)
This was the most expensive dress I've ever owned, and I loved it.
And this was the boy I had a crush on who whispered in my ear "you look beautiful tonight", thus marking my first and basically last romantic moment ever. lol

We have Junior Senior Bnaquet which is the announcement of superlatives and us passing the torch down to juniors. Then the morning/afternoon of prom we have Grand March in which family, friends, etc sit in an audience and each person walks on a red carpet to show off their outfit. Then we have dinner and the dance. It's so serious that'd you be a fool to miss in my town. :(
I feel really spoiled now. My shoes are $200, my dress is $350, our limo is going to be $50 each person, prom tickets are $20, and our beach house that we've rented out for a week is $200 a person.
4 years later and I definitely don't regret it
