Angelina Jolie joined last summer, taking over @AngelinaJolie, which was already being used, and then locked it so no one could pose as her.
Last summer, Lady Gaga leapfrogged Britney Spears to become the most followed person on Twitter. She has just shy of 9million followers.
Singer Justin Bieber isn't far behind – the teen pop sensation has over 8million followers on the site.
