Beyoncé hits one million Twitter followers (despite never tweeting)

                                          

The Halo singer does not use the micro-blogging site, and instead, Mrs Knowles lets her official website do the talking.

Her Twitter profile contains only a link to her official site, which is updated much more regularly.

The 29-year-old now has 1,043,310 followers and follows just 11 people herself, including former Destiny’s Child band mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, and her sister Solange Knowles.

The Halo singer is not the only big-name beauty to have a vacant Twitter account.

Angelina Jolie joined last summer, taking over @AngelinaJolie, which was already being used, and then locked it so no one could pose as her.

Last summer, Lady Gaga leapfrogged Britney Spears to become the most followed person on Twitter. She has just shy of 9million followers.

Singer Justin Bieber isn't far behind – the teen pop sensation has over 8million followers on the site.
