30 Rock, The Office, Community and Parks and Rec Getting Hour-Long Special Episodes Soon

                                      


For their season finales (and special episodes), NBC is prepping hour-long episodes of 30 Rock, Community, The Office and Parks and Rec. Makes sense! That hour-long Office will be after Steve Carell's sendoff, which will happen four episodes before the finale, but may include the announcement of his successor. It airs on May 19th. And we've already heard a bit about Community's hour-long paintball-themed finale that hits on May 12th.


30 Rock's hour-long episode will be their 100th, airing on April 19th, and the plot will revolve around "a new corporate boss, a star in hiding, and a mind-altering gas leak may doom TGS, America’s fourth-favorite Friday-night sketch comedy show." As for Parks and Rec, its hour-long finale follows The Office's on May 19th, and there's no word on what that one will be about.


What, Outsourced and Perfect Couples don't get the hour-long treatment?! I, for one, am outraged.

Don't care about the Office, but the other three, ALL RIGHT. :)

Speaking of P&R, I said to my husband the other day, "You know that guy, Mark?" (talking about a guy we know casually) and he randomly replies, "Brendanwicz?" It made me completely shift gears and go, "Holy shit, he's been missing all season, hasn't he?"

And my husband was like, "You obviously didn't miss him much if you're just now realizing he's gone." Though, when I asked him where he went within the context of the show, he's like, "I honestly don't remember." Season two is pretty much a blur to me.

LOL Yeah, to be honest, while I did like the char, I don't miss him at all. I really think it's because Ben and Rob Lowe's character (whose name I forget) are pretty hilariously entertaining to make up for it.

As far as where he went on the show, after the government closed down for the summer, Leslie found out Mark had accepted a job elsewhere. He'd taken his break up with Ann, the government shutting down, and a pigeon pooping on him (while indoors) as a sign it was time for him to leave his job for a new one.

You know what I'm really hoping for in future eps/seasons of Community? Origin episodes for everyone! I think that would be really interesting and can go many places on the emotional spectrum. Not sure if Harmon would go for it though...

I am so happy about 30 Rock, Parks & Rec, & Community getting hour-long finales. The Office was the only one that was getting hour-long eps in general. The episodes sound so amazing & awesome! Can't wait!
