Celebrities need to understand that the paparazzi are trying to make a living just like them. They are just doing their job so jesus just try and ignore them the best you can, they aren't going to go away anytime soon and attacking them is just causing problems for yourself. And anyway there were probably like 10 other photographers taking pictures of this incident.

Paparazzi are not at all "just trying to make a living", otherwise they could stick to the pre-arranged photoshoots that stars set-up. They are aggressive, intrusive, and frequently violate privacy and security laws in order to get their gossip shot.
Celebrities get paid millions of dollars for nothing. The top of their to-do list is to make sure they're still relevant, being talked about, and making obscene amounts of cash. If they wanted privacy, they could not release garbage movies and albums and fade away. No one is confused about what it is to be famous. They know the deal when they sign up.
Well actually as far as I know most celebs don't mind the paparazzi if they're not getting in their face. When this incident happened the paparazzi had actually jumped infront of them. There's a few paparazzi these days who try to aggravate the celebs because any shots of them getting angry and trying to attack the cameras is worth a lot more than just ho-hum "look at the pretty flower" type ones.
I'm sure it's very annoying. Picture tyring to go to the store to buy some Charmin and all of a sudden you're in the next week's tabliod with your ass paper.
Celebs can't do normal things without getting bombarded and it's really not that safe for 'non celebs' due to the fact that photographers drive like assholes just to get a photo.
Sure it's nice to pull up beside a star at a stop light, but when you get cut off and broad sided in the door because you were 'in the way of a great money shot' would be a bitch and a half.
i'm sure that now, it's just considered as part of the job... but there are differences between paparazzi who do their jobs, and then the ones that go out of their way to make people pissed off. it is NOT their job to go stalk people, it just so happens that people are going to pay for it.
it's only supply and demand. the 'real' paparazzi are the ones who snap shots at events, etc. just wanted to make a distinction.
