Evil genius Simon to soon end tiresome speculation for US X Factor judges?

It is thought more information about the talent show is coming in 2 weeks...
Although he stated 4 weeks in like November... So I will believe it when I see/read it

Simon Cowell has revealed that he is to make an announcement regarding the US version of The X Factor in "two weeks time."

The SyCo boss, who won the Best Talent Show gong for The X Factor at last night's NTAs, also revealed that despite speculation over who will feature on the American judging panel, no contracts have been signed on either the UK or US versions of the programme.

Speaking to PA backstage (lol sooo reliable) at the National Television Awards, SiCo revealed: "We are going to make an announcement soon."

He continued: "We have to make sure all the shows will be back bigger, better, stronger, different. No-one has been contracted yet, apart from me."

Cowell was also keen to insist that his involvement in the American XF will not damage the British version of the talent show, adding: "I've got some ideas and I'm trying to make a show I'd like to watch. It has got to be different, full stop."

While rumoured US X Factor judge Cheryl Cole refused to comment on whether she will be included as panellist Stateside, the music mogul did address the future of Chezza's fellow UK judges Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh, stating: "They haven't been given a contract yet."

"We are in the process of going through all the shows. I think there are going to be a few surprises. I genuinely do. I don't think there's one set way of doing it... I am in conversations with ITV and Fox."

Simon added: "The most important thing is to make a commitment to the people who watch the shows and make sure they are better than last year's."

X Factor goes Stateside: Cher Lloyd and One Direction meet up in LA as they plot their plans for the future

They became the most famous teenagers in the country when they appeared on The X Factor last year.

But it seems Cher Lloyd and boyband One Direction aren't content with fame in their home country.

Both Cher, 17, and the boys have descended on Los Angeles, in the hope of making a career for themselves Stateside.

Cher, who has been in America for the past two weeks, met up with One Direction - Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson - at famous LA shopping spot The Grove for a spot of retail therapy yesterday.

I love how she said she's saving money for her family, and yet she is constantly shopping

Reunion: Cher gets a hug from Harry before they hit the shops

Their reunion comes as it is reported the boys recently received a £2million ($3,179,400) investment from mentor Simon Cowell's record label Syco, on top of the £8,000 ($12,717) each they already received when they signed with Syco.

And while they will repay the majority of that £2million through record sales, the investment shows Cowell is confident of the group's success.

A source told the Sun: 'One Direction are in the States to meet top producers and songwriters before they start recording material for their debut album. Even The X Factor finalist usually waits nearly a year to release their material but Simon is keen to get One Direction cracking.

'They are getting stuck in and will put out a first single this spring. Then they will hear the cash register chime.'

But while One Direction have a bright future ahead of them, Cher has apparently got off to a rocky start with her career.

The teenager has allegedly been demanding to bring her own 'swagger' to her songs, asking to be allowed to record more 'urban' tracks.

A source said last week: ‘You’d think Cher would just be happy for the chance, but she’s told Simon she wants to do it her own way. She’s thrown a few heavy-duty tantrums and is, frankly, being a bit of a pain.

‘You have to admire such self-confidence in a young girl, but she’s no respecter of authority and she’s had run-ins with a few people.’

However, while Cher might have angered some people with her at times difficult attitude, it is widely believed she is destined to become a success - both in the UK and in the States.

But before launching their own careers, both Cher and One Direction have commitments with the X Factor tour which starts on February 19th.

Katie Waissel, Paije Richardson, Mary Byrne, Wagner, Rebecca Ferguson, Matt Cardle and Aiden Grimshaw will also feature in the tour.

Two weeks? I don't trust this reporting. He is British, he surely would've said "in a fortnight".
lovedforaday 28th-Jan-2011 05:52 am (UTC)
I congratulate Simon and Fox for building up anticipation for the judge announcement for X-Factor US. I have a suspicion that they were behind most of the Cheryl will-she-or-won't-she speculation.
finchroxxx 28th-Jan-2011 06:08 am (UTC)
you know it doctor.

this keeps x factors name in the press, and builds up mondo hype
tankmachine 28th-Jan-2011 05:53 am (UTC)

I can't wait for xfactor cuz AI is super painful now

The only ok judge is Steven
valeriemedia 28th-Jan-2011 05:59 am (UTC)
I watched at first just out curiosity and then continued to watch just for Steven. He makes the whole show worthwhile. I'm upset they don't even really show the bad auditions anymore! They're what made the show fun to watch. Too many good people per episode and definitely not enough bad.
finchroxxx 28th-Jan-2011 06:32 am (UTC)
ai is so painful and boring without simon. thats why i have high hopes for xfactor
bbbitchface 28th-Jan-2011 12:13 pm (UTC)
i think what's annoying me the most, apart from JLO's presence, is that they're making it more and more like a 'oh, i heard you've got a sad story to tell', then slow music starts, the person mentions their dying mother etc.
ourferocity 28th-Jan-2011 02:58 pm (UTC)
AI is so manipulative

Rumoured to be working with top producers and songwriters and yet they are pictured with Savan Kotecha.

One Direction's single is supposed to be out on March 13th whilst they are doing the tour and if they followed the unspoken X Factor rules Cher's single should be out before then, hopefully her single is good.

Savan Kotecha writes more bad songs than good, RedOne isn't great when it isn't Gaga, If I were A Boy is the only Beyonce song I detest (probably because it sounds like Big Girls Don't Cry) and I honestly like about 4 songs on this list (not including Lady Gaga).

Still I want it to be good.
hazel_belle 28th-Jan-2011 06:43 am (UTC)
Cher has a good group behind, and if that list shows anything, it shows that she will have some sort of good success in the US.
britneys 28th-Jan-2011 06:07 am (UTC)
He needs to bring Cheryl, Dannii, Dermot, and the announcer guy on. That's what will make me watch it.
emmywhore 28th-Jan-2011 06:37 am (UTC)
omg YES to the announcer guy. it won't be the same without him.
finchroxxx 28th-Jan-2011 06:40 am (UTC)
that is NEVER going to happen.

its pretty much going to be cheryl OR dermot, and tbh, i hope its dermot. (even though i love chezza)

dannii isn't even in the running.

i hope sfm that they bring the announcer guy, his voice is sooooo fucking epic.
shantayustay 28th-Jan-2011 06:47 am (UTC)
America doesn't care about Cheryl Cole.
pirate_twin 28th-Jan-2011 08:51 am (UTC)
America will care after the juggernaut machine tells them to.

Is Simon still going to do the UK X Factor?
finchroxxx 28th-Jan-2011 11:18 am (UTC)
since the shows will pretty much be auditioning and airing at the same time it seems unlikely.

from what i've read around the interweb is that itv is begging simon to do it, but he wants to focus on xfusa.

they allegedly offered simon to be able to miss the auditions in the uk, and they'd charter a privet jet to fly him from la to london every week so that he could do both shows.

xfus will be on weds/thurs, xfuk sat/sun

so in theory if he is willing transatlantic flights every week he COULD do both shows.

i doubt he would though.
neonflames 28th-Jan-2011 04:17 pm (UTC)
As far as I'm aware they were going to move the UK XF to sometime at the new year and have US XF run from September - December like it used to.

Iunno maybe things changed.
pirate_twin 28th-Jan-2011 08:50 am (UTC)
I miss him and his landing-strip-grass hairdo.
jenncho 28th-Jan-2011 02:28 pm (UTC)
omg thats the best description of his hair I've ever read.
emmaelizabethl 28th-Jan-2011 11:36 am (UTC)
For British people, A&F at the Grove is the most glorious place in the whole entire world.
sweetest_potato 28th-Jan-2011 12:33 pm (UTC)
X-Factor UK will be shit without Simon, tbh.
ugo_glenncoco 28th-Jan-2011 01:21 pm (UTC)
is Cher wearing a Clash t shirt? I'm sure she's a HUGE fan.
freakshowbb 28th-Jan-2011 02:37 pm (UTC)
i didn't know there was an X Factor tour, interesting
xdecadentx 28th-Jan-2011 03:30 pm (UTC)
