Goldfrapp announces 'Best Of' album.

From Alison's blog:

hope your all well?! i want to reasure you (without divulging too much at this point). our time with EMI came to it's contractual end, Will and i will be doing a 'best of' album, we are very happy to do this and see it as a great thing for 'goldfrapp'. we are also very excited about the future of 'goldfrapp' and we're really looking forward to making our next album, i can't say anything further on the details of that right now, but all is fine and dandy! we cant wait to get stuck in, writing new material for the release of our next album.

It depends, I really love their first album, especially Horse tears and utopia...If you are more into the electronic part I say supernature is your album.

I honestly adore all their albums with the exception of Supernature. It's good but not great imo.

it truly depends on what sounds you like. they have such a diverse range of sound.

felt mountain is this dreamy, ethereal almost creepy album.
for that, i recommend these:

Their second album, Black Cherry, moved toward electro:

Their third album, Supernature, kept the electronic theme:

their fourth, seventh tree, moved to a pagan, nature-inspired mellow album:

A&E

their fifth, head first, returned to electro inspired by italian disco and the 80s:

You really need to listen to all of the albums to appreciate Goldfrapp. Their sound is so vast and encompassing. It's incredible. If you start from the beginning and work your way through you can truly appreciate the growth and that every album has a similar theme that connects it all.

I love Allison's dreamy, ethereal voice.
