Mariah Carey Doesn’t Believe In Celebrating Her Birthday

I think I’m gonna try this! Mariah Carey has sworn off having a birthday. Sounds like a wonderful idea to me! The pregnant singer told the Independent newspaper that;

“I don’t have birthdays. Literally. If anyone wished me happy birthday, I’d be like, ‘Who are you talking to?’ It’s about not being tied down to anything.”


“Honestly I don’t think I’m normal. I don’t think my life has been quite normal. I disregard time, you don’t see me wear a watch. I don’t adhere to modern rules or the normal rules of time.”


I wonder if Mariah understands that her entire life is about to change once she has that baby. I don’t know but she doesn’t strike me as the type of star who will let the Nannies take care of her baby – she seems like she’ll be more hands on to me. Does that sound crazy?

i'm the same way, i mean i celebrate with like dinner with my fam and some cake at home but i would never want some big blow out party or something. i hate having attention on me lol

Same, but I also don't celebrate anything (Christmas, New Year, Valentine's Day, etc). I just don't see the point. And I'd rather make any day special, whenever I feel like it, instead of waiting for a certain date/holiday.

I stopped celebrating my birthday after I turned 16. idk, why. It's just not important to me. Hell, my 21st birthday is coming up and even though it's on a Friday, I'll be studying for finals. Maybe I'll buy a bottle of wine and just toast myself between study breaks.

She is a complete b*tch. The stories I've heard off the set of Extreme Home Makeover are just ridiculous. Whenever she came out, nobody was to look at her, ask for her autograph or take pictures. If you did any of the above, you'd be escorted off the premises, WHERE YOU WERE VOLUNTEERING YOUR TIME TO BUILD A HOUSE FOR SOMEONE LESS FORTUNATE! I guess it was a good think she never came out of her trailer. During the reveal, she had a car drive her from her trailer to the area staged to do the reveal, where a directors chair was waiting. That was about all she did was sit there. Usually celebs help out with the house, not miss precious Mariah! She didn't lift her feet, let alone a finger. Puhlease.
