Disney sucks; cuts Keith Richards from Pirates of the Caribbean 4

Disney to Cut All Keith Richards’ Scenes from ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 4’

Disney doesn’t condone drug use – not to mention like it when one of the stars of its upcoming movie offers free advice on how to get high without risking your health. As such, it wants Keith Richards out of “Pirates 4.”

Shortly after the veteran rocker confirmed that he would be reprising his role as Cpt. Jack Sparrow’s father in “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” it has emerged that Disney will probably be cutting him out.

As it turns out, the movie studio is not happy with Richards’ take on drugs in his biography, more specifically the details he gives about how he’s learned to get high without risking his sanity, Worst Previews says, citing ongoing reports.

Because that’s an image Disney doesn’t want to be associated with, it is seriously considering cutting out of the film all of Richards’ scenes.

“Apparently, the musician's new book, ‘Life,’ talks about things that Disney doesn't agree with, like teaching people that using high-quality drugs in moderation is a safe way to get stoned,” Worst Previews says.

“It's not only the high quality of drugs I had that I attribute my survival to. I was very meticulous about how much I took,” Richards reportedly writes.

“I'd never put more in to get a little higher. That's where most people [expletive] up on drugs,” the rocker says in the same paragraph that reportedly sparked the ire of Disney.

As noted above, this reported fallout with Disney comes short on the heels of Richards confirming that he’d be back to the franchise by reprising the role of Captain Teague, Captain Jack Sparrow’s father.

However, whether Disney actually needed a book to find out that Richards did heavy drugs is debatable, as Worst Previews also notes. The studio must have known this since before it asked him to appear on “Pirates.”

In 2007, for instance, Richards said in an interview he’d snorted his father’s ashes with cocaine, while also offering plenty of details of the many times he’d come close to ODing.

Disney can suck it.

"Life," Keef's auto bio, comes out tomorrow, jsyk.

WHAT?! Um, he's a legend, bitches. Fall in line. And do we seriously think the kids that will be seeing the movie will be reading his fucking memoirs?? Ugh, fail.
[info]keef_riffhards 26th-Oct-2010 04:21 am (UTC)
IA on both accounts.
[info]trikc 26th-Oct-2010 04:33 am (UTC)
Plus, SERIOUSLY??? This is the first Disneys heard of Keith Richards and drugs? Kieth Richards of the mother f*cking Rolling Stones.

Pussies.

please summarize this for me

the bold says nothing
[info]cammiec 26th-Oct-2010 04:20 am (UTC)
I read Disney cuts Keith Richards's scenes because of his book. Or something like that.

That's what I got from scrolling down lol
[info]taioncassis 26th-Oct-2010 04:24 am (UTC)
Basically Disney is shocked that he got high and told others how it was easy to get stoned using a little of the higher quality stuff so they cut him from the movie.
[info]fate_steps_in 26th-Oct-2010 04:26 am (UTC)
Keith Richards' memoir talks about him using drugs and how getting high using high-quality drugs in moderation can be safe. Disney doesn't like that, so they're cutting his scenes from Pirates 4.
[info]deppified 26th-Oct-2010 05:21 pm (UTC)
really.. it's too hard for you to read that? hahahhaa
[info]marielaltb01 26th-Oct-2010 04:18 am (UTC)
That's fucked up.
[info]keef_riffhards 26th-Oct-2010 04:19 am (UTC)
IKR? And he was excited about it, too.
[info]ohwutevernvm 26th-Oct-2010 04:19 am (UTC)
......what?
[info]josiefier 26th-Oct-2010 04:19 am (UTC)
Thank the rock gods I didn't want to see this anyway.
[info]zutxalors 26th-Oct-2010 04:19 am (UTC)
Wait. Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightley aren't in it?

I hope it's good. I'm probably in the minority, but I loved all 3 movies, lol.
[info]jordanchase 26th-Oct-2010 04:22 am (UTC)
there's no point for them to be in it because their storyline had ended in the third movie.
[info]zutxalors 26th-Oct-2010 04:22 am (UTC)
How did it end? lol. I don't remember it. I should watch these again.
[info]alwayscircle 26th-Oct-2010 04:24 am (UTC)
their storyline could have ended in the first movie but they came back in the second anyway
[info]cammiec 26th-Oct-2010 04:19 am (UTC)
UGH, DISNEY.

But anyway, I wanna go to Disneyworld during my vacation. And LA, Vegas and NY.
[info]freebrook 26th-Oct-2010 05:35 am (UTC)
omg what is this gif? what is wrong with that guy????
[info]rissa_rose 26th-Oct-2010 04:19 am (UTC)
Um, Disney does NOT suck. It's amazing; it's done wonderful things and will continue to do wonderful things always and forever.

I agree with Disney on this. They're a family-oriented company and cannot have actors in their movies telling others it's perfectly fine to do drugs.

mte
[info]dobatochan 26th-Oct-2010 04:23 am (UTC)
But really, do you think the kids who are most impressionable, the young ones who love Pirates, are going to go out reading an old rock star's memoir and then be like OH HE WAS IN PIRATES SO HE MUST BE COOL LET ME GO GET SOME CRACK.
[info]rissa_rose 26th-Oct-2010 04:34 am (UTC)
Anything is possible.
[info]songbirdapostle 26th-Oct-2010 04:25 am (UTC)
Disney stans are my favorite. Well, next to Charlie Steen stans lol
[info]bostongirl2003 26th-Oct-2010 04:25 am (UTC)
I think Disney has made some questionable decisions in its past but it makes sense that if this guy is now releasing a book detailing his drug use he maybe shouldn't be cast in a kid's movie.
[info]yousuckdotcom 26th-Oct-2010 04:26 am (UTC)
For being family-oriented, they depict most of their Disney princesses as overtly sexual objects.
[info]wicked_plum7 26th-Oct-2010 04:26 am (UTC)
UM...this is a movie about PIRATES, who cuss, rape, pillage, and drink themselves into comas!! Disney's logic is fucking lacking!
[info]orangesmiles 26th-Oct-2010 04:27 am (UTC)
Disney has also included a lot of awful things in their films, though.
[info]dicklerlikewhoa 26th-Oct-2010 04:27 am (UTC)
were not all of the pirate movies rated pg13 anyways? and its not like the youth of today are going to be reading about someone old enough to be their g-grandpas. and if they were, that's why they have parents, to ~guide them proper~
[info]gunsandhorses 26th-Oct-2010 04:51 am (UTC)
They're a family-oriented company

lol.. if you seriously think that then i'm sorry for you. must've missed the sexual innuendos just to name an example
[info]squalorholla 26th-Oct-2010 05:33 am (UTC)
every single goddamn celebrity in the history of humanity has gotten fucked up on the regular. keith is just honest about it. hypocrites.
[info]jinxeh13 26th-Oct-2010 09:29 am (UTC)
I dunno, though. I agree with what you say and all, but it's a bit...late...for this now, isn't it? "Pirates" is full of alcoholism, prostitutes, sexual innuendo...cutting Keith after he's already been in one movie because he does drugs just seems a bit...weird to me, considering all of this.
[info]shelostcontro1 26th-Oct-2010 04:19 am (UTC)
lol i would guess less than 5% of drug users have the means to use "high quality" drugs
[info]friendofplato 26th-Oct-2010 04:19 am (UTC)
WUT?

No reason to live now, thanks
[info]pluckygirl 26th-Oct-2010 04:19 am (UTC)
If this is true, well then I won't watch PotC4. :l
[info]sequined_bones 26th-Oct-2010 04:20 am (UTC)
i get what they're going for, but it does seem dumb that it was public knowledge before they filmed the scenes but they're only now taking a stance.
[info]yunaresuka 26th-Oct-2010 04:22 am (UTC)
I guess it's a little harder for them to look past it when a book comes out that has it right in front of them in print. and now the public (ie parents) has something to shove in their faces.
[info]floetcist 26th-Oct-2010 04:21 am (UTC)
I didn't care forthe character in POTC3 so whatevs.
[info]ohwutevernvm 26th-Oct-2010 04:21 am (UTC)
