Good news, ladies: If Usher's mom has anything to do with it, he won't be dating girlfriend Tameka Foster for long.
Tension is mounting amid rumors that Tameka Foster, Usher's stylist-turned-gal-pal, has management ambitions. "Him dating her is causing a serious family rift," says an insider.
Matriarch Jonetta Patton fired Foster when she was working as Usher's stylist because "she didn't think she was dressing him according to the caliber of star he was," says a source. Patton especially objected to her son being photographed in jeans.
A second source said: "People in the industry don't like Tameka - she has had a lot of problems with designers."
Fashion house Roberto Cavalli had so many issues they refused to deal with her, said two separate sources.
The fact that Foster has three children with her still-husband, Ryan Glover, doesn't help matters. Some unkind souls have also suggested she is older than her stated age of 33 (Usher is 27).
A rep for Usher told me: "He and Tameka are friends. Jonetta Patton is his manager and will always be his manager."
Is he still Madonna's Guy?
London insiders are buzzing about trouble between Madonna and her husband of five years, director Guy Ritchie.
Open speculation in media circles is that "the couple has split, but they're keeping it quiet."
Another longtime Madonna insider tells me: "She has been spending very little time with him. She is obsessed with everything related to her career at this point. The album ["Confessions on a Dance Floor"] is a hit, and that is all she seems to care about these days.
"A split? Not sure. Less time together? Most definitely."
Madonna's rep, Liz Rosenberg, says all has been well on the video set for her new single, "Sorry."
"Guy came to the set to visit, once with the children [Rocco and Lourdes] and once without," she said. "Mr. and Mrs. Ritchie seemed perfectly comfortable and adoring of each other. ... My sense is that they're quite a happy, content couple."
Madonna herself recently surprised fans by speaking of how she and Ritchie nearly broke up.
"I got married for all the wrong reasons," she admitted in a documentary last October. "My husband did not turn out to be everything I had imagined him to be."
The film depicted fights - including one that derailed a planned trip to Ireland - and a day when the couple wouldn't speak to each other.
Madonna admitted, "There is no such thing as the perfect soul mate." But she said: "I thank God every day that I married a man who makes me think. That is my definition of true love."
Porn star's pet names
Have you ever played the party game whereby people try to work out their "porn star name" by combining the name of their first pet with the street on which they grew up? This is what you get when you apply the formula to actual porn stars:
Vivid girl Savanna Samson says hers would be "Frisky Clinton." Tera Patrick translates to "McClavindish Peach," while her husband, Biohazard front man Evan Seinfeld, chimed in that his would be "Splasher Ocean."
Late-night legend Robin Byrd would be "Om Sutton," and Michael Lucas, loosely translated from the Russian, would be "Bianca Big."
I know it's not rocket science, but really, what else do you ask a porn star when you meet one?

Cindy Crawford threw a party for her longtime hairstylist, Stephen Knoll, at Indochine on Tuesday, complete with scantily clad go-go dancers of all three genders. According to one dancer, Stephen Knoll conditioner is just the thing to salve irritation caused by pastie glue. ... Did you know that today is the fifth annual "No Pants Subway Ride"? Apparently exhibitionists should meet at 3 p.m. in Foley Square, where they will board a northbound 6 train and then all take their pants off, pretending that nobody knows each other and it's all a huge coincidence. Say organizers: "Avoid wearing a thong or anything else that might offend people. Our aim is to make people laugh, not p- them off."
