Adam Brody regrets suggesting Kristen Stewart should give up acting - because he "sounded like an idiot" and isn't surprised he was slated for the remarks.
The former The O.C. star riled Twilight fans when he insisted the actress should quit her movie career if fame gets too much for her.
Referring to the actress in an interview with Diablo Cody, he said, "It's only gotten worse, I'm sure, being a celebrity. At the same time, I don't have a lot of patience for people who moan about it too much. Because there are many things you could do... It's like, quit... you don't need to be an actor, so it's like, if it's that much of a problem... there's the door."
The comments sparked an online hate campaign from loyal followers of the vampire franchise - and now even Brody admits his words were too harsh.
He tells MTV News, "It wasn't taken out of context. I saw (the interview) and thought I sounded like an idiot. I did. Regardless of how anyone else took anything, I would think that sounds very ungentlemanly and I sounded like a jackass.'

I'm sure he would adore to get some form of attention for his always asperger-y performances in unseen movies.
sadly that is not the case for him.
i'm shocked, although he always did seem to be a pretty decent guy.
And fuck the "He was right!!!!!!!!!!" comments.
Ugh I don't even like her. Why am I saying such things ;-;
Also, think back six years. He was in US Weekly with Rachel Bilson on his arm at least every other week. The OC was big back in the day, even if that success was short-lived. His remark was mature & accurate.
but they're rich so i have little sympathy. tho these twilight kids do get it rough from their weirdo fans. it's similar to britney in a way.
if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen cunt.
or at least not sign a contract for one of the biggest movie franchises in recent years. stick to indie movies no ones gonna see if you hate fame so much.
What it became was something else entirely
let the real A-listers do the asshole entitled comments like those. but, alas, it's always the z-listers running their mouths. never the real succesful people say such backhanded things to one another. these are the pople that get rewarded in life.
the twilight cast has never bashed anyone and have never criticized other people's work. ever. they at least deserve the courtesy of being left alone.
