Guess Who! (Also my first ONTD post!)

So my step-dad got some free tickets to the American Idols Live tour at the St. Pete Times Forum in hot and disgusting Tampa Florida. When it was over and we were walking outside they had the barricades up and there were a couple of groups of people who had been waiting for an hour to meet them. Completely unnecessary, my sister and I just jumped up to the barricades.

Only a couple of them would take pictures, the others lied and said that they weren't allowed to. Crystal Bowersox didn't come out because it was her birthday and she had her child with her. It was worth waiting for them just to listen to the extremely embarrassing people who were obsessing over Lee DeWyze. IDK what happened but I could have sworn he was not this weird looking on the show.

Also, excuse how terrible I look.

I also was not willing to spend $25 for something to get signed, so I used the only thing I had on me -- my iPod.

Crazy man is crazy.

But seriously, how can someone who is clearly this religious really think that his all loving God would want others to not have the same rights as him?
cecilia_weasley 6th-Aug-2010 05:22 am (UTC)
um... Christians are big hypocrites. Big.
sociale 6th-Aug-2010 05:53 am (UTC)
no, not all of us. there is a small, hypocritical percentage with huge mouths is all.
cecilia_weasley 6th-Aug-2010 05:58 am (UTC)
Sorry, sorry, I have come in contact with way too many of these loud kind which are putting the rest of you in a bad light. I didn't mean all, I meant... those ones. But people in general are hypocrites. When you have Christians taking words literally from the Bible... well, recipe for disaster.
starlight_day 6th-Aug-2010 05:57 am (UTC)
that's a pretty unfair generalization. religious zealots of ANY religion tend to be hypocrites. crazy comes in every denomination.

there is a difference between a zealot and a truly religious person.

Sorry, sorry, didn't mean all but damn if people in general aren't hypocrites.

Even religious persons can be hypocrites. Nobody is perfect.

um... hypocrites are everywhere, tyvm.

I am always confused by this. I went to a Catholic high school, and I remember a classmate asked our theology teacher, how can God be all-loving and vengeful?

And you know what, I can't remember if we got a straight answer.
pavonine 6th-Aug-2010 07:02 am (UTC)
maybe He's not?
sinandmisery 6th-Aug-2010 07:51 am (UTC)
And you know what, I can't remember if we got a straight answer.

I don't think I ever got an actual answer from my theology teachers about ANYTHING I asked them

I was always told that the vengeful god got left in the old testament, lol.
lafrijole 6th-Aug-2010 11:50 am (UTC)
this.

His god friends gave him an intervention... "Oh Lord, this revenge kick you're on, not cool man. Maybe you should settle down, start a family... a son to carry on your name."

it's because this man doesn't really believe in an all-loving God. somewhere along the line he became convinced that his God was a picker-and-chooser. and somehow, strangely enough (eye roll), that very same God picked and choosed to condemn what this man condemns and to adore what this man adores.

and also to speak some kinda funky tongue.
lafrijole 6th-Aug-2010 11:54 am (UTC)
I'm Christian, and tbvh, I am so dang critical of people getting 'The Holy Spirit'... the one or two places in the Bible where people speak in tongues, there was a translator [one person in the group who understood the person speaking in tongues], and they were messengers from God, so to speak.. not just 'speaking with God' like the big fakers do today.... really frustrates me, idkw..
