Gossip Girl Round Up
Gossip Girl's Chace Crawford: I met Prince Harry backstage at a Killers gig
What’s the appeal of Gossip Girl?
It centres on gossip and our cultural fascination with it. It has good writers, a good foundation in the books it was adapted from and a good ensemble cast. Everyone delivers well.
Has the show got more ridiculous as it’s progressed?
Absolutely. It has to up the ante each season. It’s all part of the fun.
What’s the most ridiculous thing your character’s done on the show?
Sleeping with a 40-year-old woman.
How do you respond to rumours you’re having a secret gay romance with co-star Ed Westwick?
I just throw my head back and laugh. It’s not hard to deal with when there’s no truth to it. Just ignore it and it’ll go away.
Are you looking for other jobs?
Absolutely. We’re all contracted for six years but it’s good to switch it up. We get four months a year to work on other projects and the show’s given us a good foundation to do other things. I’d like to play a supporting role in a project with a good cast and great director.
Whose career do you admire?
Paul Newman’s my favourite actor and he did pretty well in Hollywood, obviously. There’s no one way to build a career, you just have to assess where you are and play it like a game of chess and make the right moves.
What’s been your most challenging acting experience?
I did a movie last year called Twelve, which comes out soon. It was fun. Very intense. It’s based on a novel by a 17-year-old. It’s about how rich kids get into a new designer drug. It’s seen through the eyes of my character, who is a marijuana dealer. Some of it is funny but it’s also a tragic melodrama.
Did it reflect your experiences of showbiz hedonism?
Not necessarily my own but I know of it. There’s a lot of it around but it only takes people who are involved with it so far.
You keep topping ‘hottest man’ polls. What’s that like?
Flattering. I don’t mind it at all, it’s very nice.
Are there disadvantages to being so good-looking?
When you have a certain look, you get stereotyped. People think of me as the pretty boy. I need to work twice as hard and pick projects where I can prove myself.
Have any fans done anything crazy to meet you?
They’re very well behaved in Britain but get a bit wild in New York in the summer. They camp outside and hunt in packs. They normally just want pictures or hugs, nothing too extreme. It’s intriguing to see what people do to try to make a connection.
Did you fancy any celebrities when you were younger?
Not really but I understand it. If someone’s on the TV all the time you can put them on a pedestal. I looked up more to athletes when I was a kid: football stars for the Dallas Cowboys. I went to a lot of games and it was a big deal when they signed a picture.
Prince Harry is a Gossip Girl fan, apparently. Have you met him?
I met him backstage at a Killers gig last year in Hyde Park. It was cool. We had a brief conversation but I can’t remember what it was about.
Leona Lewis claims she refused to kiss you in her video for I Will Be. Were you relieved?
I haven’t heard that story. I don’t think a kiss was supposed to have happened in that video.
What music do you listen to?
The White Stripes, The Black Keys, The XX, Florence And The Machine. I like indie rock.
What’s been your most extravagant purchase?
A Panerai watch, which was a pretty big purchase but I got a deal.
When was the last time you watched a film with subtitles?
Not too long ago. It was Apocalypto on HBO.
Gossip Girl Filming in Paris next season
GOSSIP GIRL is jetting off to Paris to kick start season four in the City of Light.
Series stars Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick will be filming on location in Paris in early July for the first two episodes of the season.
Season four premiere of GOSSIP GIRL – Serena van der Woodsen (Lively) and Blair Waldorf (Meester) are enjoying their grand and romantic summer in Paris. But when a friend from home mysteriously appears on the scene, they'll be in for a few OMG surprises!
Blake Lively as Serena, Leighton Meester as Blair (season 3 Finale 'Last Tango, Then Paris')
"Paris has always been the ultimate extension of our GOSSIP GIRL world — the home of high fashion, Michelin star restaurants, chic night clubs, and Blair's favorite sweet (macaroons, of course!)," says executive producer Stephanie Savage. "We're thrilled to be able to share with our fans that this fall GOSSIP GIRL is going to Paris. We hope that they'll come along with Blair, Serena and Chuck for the first two episodes of season four."
My NS loving heart is crushed, but it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Yay for Jenny leaving, but Dan was such a little bitch this episode that I almost wish he had gone. He was such a fucking hypocrite--being upset that Nate told Vanessa, but then he goes and tells Chuck's business to Blair. LOL at Chuck trying to propose to Blair right after he took little J's V card.

Discuss the finale!!

EPIC SHIT WAS EPIC!
*SPOILERS*
I totally forgot about the shooting and I thought those Prague guys were going for Chuck's dick.
KLJHASDKLJHASDLKJHASDLKJHAS HOW CRAZY WAS THAT, YA'LL? I mostly dying to know who's the father of Georgina's baby. Cause I'm SURE it's not Dan.
so much happened that i'm rendered paralyzed and must ingest it longer before i comment!! omg!
1. Eric and Nate are the only characters of reason. Nate used to be bland, but they really made his character better this season.
2. Blair should've said fuck off to chuck long before the Jenny thing, but at least she isn't with that hoe now. :-)
3. Um Dan no need to be rude to Blair. Your sister just fucked the man she loves, so she can say whatever she wants to your sis.
4. Speaking of Jenny, that scene was just disturbing. She needs to go.
5. Also baby? Georgina is faking it. I called it.
6. Oh Chuck got shot? That was random as hell.
