Elly Jackson, lead singer of UK pop duo La Roux, recently revealed Rihanna was once interested in doing a duet with the singer; however, the prospective project vanished into thin air after the assault incident with Rihanna then-boyfriend Chris Brown.

“I’ve had three or four offers for collaborations in America. Big, big artists,” Jackson told NME mag. “Rihanna was very interested for a time… That was weird.”

Jackson went on to share, “My A&R (artists and repertoire) man said, ‘Rihanna’s gonna call!’ That was the last I heard of it. She didn’t call! It was around the time of, er, troubles in her life. To be honest, do I really want to work with Rihanna? Not really. I’m more interested in what the phone call would be like.”

So much for mutual interest. While it doesn’t sound like a duet between these artists is anywhere in the near future, I must admit I would be interested to see what a Rihanna-La Roux collabo would sound like. Seems like RiRi was really trying to take it there for this “Rated R.”
