creeped out by this phenomenon on a few levels

he's marketed towards young girls because he looks like a child, no older than 12, when he's really 16

but it seems like he's still treated by publications (like teen vogue) as a teen heartthrob or whatever, who teenagers or adults can fantasize about (or whatever) when he still looks like a child

idk. i haven't actually heard even one of his songs, so maybe that's more relevant to his popularity than i'm assuming

that's what i assumed, but it seems so forced. i mean, i guess most 90's boy bands weren't particularly attractive (n'sync was almost entirely ugly) so it's nothing new. but if this is how he looks at 16, it will not be a pretty sight by 20.

Yup. Well, to be honest, they did the same with that kid from Twilight - what's his name? Taylor? Beyond creepy that everybody was all UNF and the media played up his ~sex symbol appeal~ when he was only like 15 yo. But the media has been doing this for ages with girls already... so sadly, this is not surprising. Still terrible though.
