Rihanna talks about her inspiration for 'Rude Boy' music video


“It’s really colorful; it’s a pop art video,” Rihanna told MTV Korea. “We shot it all on green screen. Everything was done in post-production. It’s really colorful, really energetic. It was really inspired by my Caribbean roots. I love reggae music. "Rude Boy" is a Jamaican term, so our costumes are dancehall-queen-like. It’s a fun video. Probably the most fun video we’ve done so far.”

I had a hilarious discussion with my hairdresser the other day about how the mushroom cut is coming back a la Rihanna and how she's horrified at the idea that someone will come in wanting it.

nowadays alot of jamaican mainstream music sounds like american pop/rnb to be honest. all autotune and american slang...sigh.

OT: can anyone think of a easy to do but fairly ~out there~/ unique fancy dress/ costume? There's no theme. We have this thing at school where our whole year dresses up, was going to do Avatar with some mates but then realised blue body paint probs won't work amazingly on brown skin :P

Latex body paint will cover any skin tone and is very durable to boot.
