i interviewed her in 2004 for an article i wrote for the beat (this reggae magazine). my boyfriend and i went out to negril. he took the photos for me. it came out really well!!!!
at the time she was supposed to be making a comeback- jon baker of gee street records (he's one of those white canadian/jamaican socialite music dudes) signed her. they tried to buy our photos from me for $200 to use in her press pack and i LAUGHED at them. she looked great, though. too bad nothing came of that deal.
i never bother trying to track her down whenever i go to ja, though.
yeah it would be so much better if she just wore some low cut jeans with a white tank top and had a long, flowy honey colored weave on top of her head.
she still looks better than most bitches out there though, I'd love to see chunky Britney or lion king weave Beyonce trying to pull off some of the looks Rihanna has rocked.
She really needs to stop trying so hard. Or you know she should start to try and put on a good live show once in a while , she has no stage presence what so ever.
my original comment was gonna be, "i see the 90s dancehall look is back in effect," but figured that was obvs. so i went with calling her a cross between patra and grace jones.
i'm the only person i know who loved 90s style (for women). i was "old" in 90 (21), which makes me ridiculously old now.
gimme FIRE BOMB
its one of the best songs on the album
it's like patra mixed with grace jones, but WITH REAL STYLE.
not.

It's been 20 years though, so welcome back butt-ugly trends.
