i do this all the time, too. i just did it last week in the middle of a busy intersection. the light was turning yellow, so i started running and ran out of one of my flats and had to go back, put my shoe one, and run to catch the light while everyone was watching me :/ and probably laughing.
OMG this literally happened to me last winter but I was wearing loose-ish sneakers and had to step in a snow bank to get across the street (THANKS TO MY CITY FOR FAILING AT KEEPING SIDEWALKS CLEAR) and I lost my shoe in the snow bank and had to hop back across the street because it was really wet on the ground and get my shoe but I couldn't just hop so my foot got all wet and I just grabbed my shoe and said fuck it and walked away with only one shoe on, lol.
MEANWHILE, it was snowing/raining pretty hard and my best friend didn't hear me like, hysterically laughing and calling for her to stop walking so she just kept going and I had to face all the cars on my own hahaha.
aww :[ you topped my embarrassing shoe moment, yo. i live in denver and they suck at clearing the sidewalks AND the roads. we don't get a lot of HUGE snow storms here so when we do i feel like the city is just like, "uhh, shit, what should we do??" haha.
