How to Make A Michael Cera Movie



It seems like a lot of people I know have gotten tired of Michael Cera’s same-old-act, and the $7 million opening of his new film, Youth in Revolt, seems to suggest it might be more widespread than just a couple of my friends. High Definite has created an infographic showing the paint by numbers steps involved in creating a Michael Cera comedy. I can no longer find the image on the source site, so I’ve included the whole thing after the jump.

I loved Superbad, but then...he wasn't really the *~star~* of that one. One of the stars, but not the focal point so his awkwardness wasn't as heavy.

Also Arrested Development will always be amazing. His awkwardness really worked for him in that show. Now it's tiresome.

Ohhh, no. This could still kind of apply to Scott Pilgrim...

Admittedly, I'm kind of tired of Cera doing the same thing again and again but I really do hope he kicks ass as Scott.

I really hope they don't fuck that up. Scott can be a bit awkward, but not Cera level of awkward. Scott Pilgrim is more like a lovable dolt with flashes of silly and awesome.
