Gaga, Green Day among added performers to Grammys

GRAMMY® Nominees Dave Matthews Band, Green Day, Lady Gaga, P!nk, and Zac Brown Band Added to Stellar Lineup for 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Current GRAMMY® Award nominees the Dave Matthews Band, Green Day, Lady Gaga, P!nk, and the Zac Brown Band are the latest performers announced for the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards telecast. They join previously announced performers and nominees Beyoncé, the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Antebellum, Maxwell, and Taylor Swift. The music industry's premier event will take place live on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast in HDTV and 5.1 Surround Sound on the CBS Television Network from 8 – 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT). The show also will be supported on radio via Westwood One worldwide, and covered online at GRAMMY.com and CBS.com, and on YouTube at www.youtube.com/thegrammys. Additional performers, presenters and special segments will be announced soon. For GRAMMY coverage, updates and breaking news, please visit The Recording Academy®'s social networks on Twitter and Facebook: www.twitter.com/thegrammys, www.facebook.com/thegrammys.

All five Album Of The Year nominees are now set to perform on Music's Biggest Night®: Beyoncé, the Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, the Dave Matthews Band, and Taylor Swift.

Lady Gaga has five nominations: Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, and Best Dance Recording for "Poker Face," and Album Of The Year and Best Electronic/Dance Album for The Fame.

Three-time GRAMMY winner Green Day and the Zac Brown Band each have three nods: Green Day with Best Rock Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals and Best Rock Song for "21 Guns," and Best Rock Album for 21st Century Breakdown; and the Zac Brown Band with Best New Artist, Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals for "Chicken Fried," and Best Country Album for The Foundation.

I'm very excited about Green Day and Gaga performing on the same award show again (like the VMAs and AMAs). It makes them so much more bearable!

I, for some odd reason, watched part of the Country Music Awards. I had never heard of them but saw them perform. I must say, as a country music hater, they are pretty talented musicians.
bellyroomfan 5th-Jan-2010 03:50 pm (UTC)
i really can't get into award shows these days. idkw but the oscars, the grammys, the globes that are golden hold no appeal.
bellyroomfan 5th-Jan-2010 03:56 pm (UTC)
same. so a good pre-show is all we really need. except most of the hosts annoy the crap out of me. like that Guilianna chick on E! i want to stab her with a pencil.
jamie_frazzled 5th-Jan-2010 04:03 pm (UTC)
I mostly watch to see who, if anyone, gets drunk.
vanwyngarden 5th-Jan-2010 03:50 pm (UTC)

muzicnem 5th-Jan-2010 04:10 pm (UTC)
I agree, it's annoying and lame.
lollerskatedj 5th-Jan-2010 03:52 pm (UTC)
I hate them
vicarabelling 5th-Jan-2010 03:52 pm (UTC)
I don't hate them but that's more because I don't care about them enough to hate them.
mollysmiles 5th-Jan-2010 03:54 pm (UTC)
I don't like Green Day at all.
luvthatdrtywata 5th-Jan-2010 03:58 pm (UTC)
I like their stuff from the early-mid 90s but haven't liked anything since that god awful time of your life song. I like the sentiment in a lot of their music but it does nothing for me.
oldentimes 5th-Jan-2010 04:02 pm (UTC)
LOL aww a Springsteen stan <3
takingthewalk 5th-Jan-2010 04:05 pm (UTC)
don't hate them but man are they overrated.
muzicnem 5th-Jan-2010 04:11 pm (UTC)
I don't like them.
dementria 5th-Jan-2010 04:11 pm (UTC)
I don't like them either. I like OLD Greenday... but not the shit that they are now.
patbjorke 5th-Jan-2010 04:15 pm (UTC)
I hate them too. They're so overrated and I can't believe anyone takes them seriously.
shepherds 5th-Jan-2010 05:06 pm (UTC)
I hate them
orbandsceptre 5th-Jan-2010 06:07 pm (UTC)
I'm just tired of them. They're EVERYWHERE.
lollerskatedj 5th-Jan-2010 03:51 pm (UTC)
All performances should be only GaGa(with Beyonce for Telephone). I'm sorry but BEP, Greenday and especially Taylor Swift can go away forever.

i don't agree with the first part.

too much of a good thing.

but yeah i'm a little tired of how overexposed BEP and Taylor Swift are right now.
luvthatdrtywata 5th-Jan-2010 03:59 pm (UTC)
I agree on Gaga but Beyonce can stay with BEP, GD and TS as far as I'm concerned.
mindofthebeheld 5th-Jan-2010 04:05 pm (UTC)
Sasha, I am sucked so so bad.
mindofthebeheld 5th-Jan-2010 04:03 pm (UTC)
I'm still not sick of BEP's I Got A Feeling, so I hope they perform that. Or I hope they perform Kid Cudi's Boom Boom Pow remix.
thelookofarebel 5th-Jan-2010 04:05 pm (UTC)
BEP are so fucking annoying :|
takingthewalk 5th-Jan-2010 04:06 pm (UTC)

sprocket1224 6th-Jan-2010 12:37 am (UTC)
Yes yes yes!!!
vicarabelling 5th-Jan-2010 03:53 pm (UTC)
Green Day's past their prime.

dementria 5th-Jan-2010 04:13 pm (UTC)
and yet they keep playing their songs on the radio.

I'm not a Greenday stan, I meant that to be a very hate-y comment. lol
germaricanmix 6th-Jan-2010 05:05 am (UTC)
not really. Their newest CD is their most successful yet. Unless that was a dig at their age in which case...not really.
herphotolife 5th-Jan-2010 03:55 pm (UTC)
and i'm already bored
x_ap0488x 5th-Jan-2010 03:57 pm (UTC)

i always read it "zac efron band" and i get so excited.

and then i actually use my eyes and then die a little on the inside.
mindofthebeheld 5th-Jan-2010 03:59 pm (UTC)
I don't hate Pink (I like her earlier stuff), but that would be weird.
luvthatdrtywata 5th-Jan-2010 04:02 pm (UTC)
that would be such a killer chick anthem. needs to happen.
patbjorke 5th-Jan-2010 04:14 pm (UTC)
no way
vicarabelling 5th-Jan-2010 03:58 pm (UTC)
I feel like there is no originality in this line up
coulditbesatan 5th-Jan-2010 03:58 pm (UTC)
nice alliteration in the title.
seasons_of_mist 5th-Jan-2010 03:58 pm (UTC)
Euuuuugh, Taylor Swift.
erin_chupacabra 5th-Jan-2010 03:59 pm (UTC)
Lady Antebellum, Taylor Swift, Green Day, The Black Eyed Peas?
Sounds like a shitfest. Then again, the Grammys is always a big pile of feces.
