father gill stars with josh lyman in refreshingly new tv concept

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Colin Hanks will join Bradley Whitford in "Jack and Dan," an action comedy slated to premiere on Fox next year.

Hanks plays Jack, an ambitious, by-the-book detective whose habit of undermining himself has resulted in a dead-end position at the Los Angeles Police Department. Worse, he has been partnered with Dan (Whitford), a drunken, lecherous, wild-card cop who hangs onto his job only because of a heroic act years before.

The show will have a similar tone to series creator Matt Nix's USA Network show "Burn Notice."

Hanks, who began as a regular on WB Network's sci-fi drama "Roswell," recently did an arc on AMC's "Mad Men." only important part of the article tbqh

His feature credits include comedy "The House Bunny," "Untraceable" and "The Great Buck Howard."

Colin Hanks is adorable. I've been in love with him since 2002.

[info]team_britney 6th-Nov-2009 08:21 am (UTC)
ia! i love watching his interviews cause he sounds and acts just like his father who i love too.
[info]mindofthebeheld 6th-Nov-2009 08:27 am (UTC)
He was so cute in The House Bunny.
[info]headcaseheidi 6th-Nov-2009 08:30 am (UTC)
idk how anyone can hate him, it's like trying to hate a bunny or a kitten with jesus's powers
[info]thebigquiet 6th-Nov-2009 08:47 am (UTC)
I used to have the biggest crush on Jack.

I never got Colin's appeal until Mad Men. Hot priest.
[info]grammaire 6th-Nov-2009 08:48 am (UTC)
I totally have a crush on Jack too. Men who are funny >>>>>>> men who are conventionally attractive.
[info]mouthofblood 6th-Nov-2009 11:41 am (UTC)
i still have a crush on jack! hes so cute!
[info]seducethesinger 6th-Nov-2009 10:10 am (UTC)

[info]listenlouder 6th-Nov-2009 11:05 am (UTC)

[info]brokenseas 6th-Nov-2009 08:19 am (UTC)
Father Gill, Peggy is fucking a Duck. Pls to fix immediately, perhaps by serenading her with your hippie guitar playing.

[info]seducethesinger 6th-Nov-2009 10:11 am (UTC)

[info]team_britney 6th-Nov-2009 08:19 am (UTC)
Hint: nothing on tv will ever be "refreshingly new."

If Sal isn't in the last episode I'm gonna cut a bitch.
[info]brokenseas 6th-Nov-2009 08:25 am (UTC)
I seriously think he got a great blowjob, saw the gay light, and is never to return.

I hate Matthew Weiner for this

well well well, what have we here?
[info]peopleareshapes 6th-Nov-2009 08:50 am (UTC)
I feel like they wrote him and Joan into a corner by having them leave the office. Now Joan's only interaction with the main group is through Roger (which is great in the sense that I love them together, but it's very limiting) and Sal...well, I can't see him ever returning, nor would I want him to after the way Don treated him. He'd have to swallow so much pride. I hope they'll start following his home/away life more in the way that they follow Pete/Trudy's and the Drapers. :/

I really doubt it, but I'd be surprised (and also ready to cut a bitch) if he doesn't come back someday.

You never know, he could pop up at Grey with Duck and either Pete or Peggy (or both... I swear at least one of them is jumping ship).
[info]mindofthebeheld 6th-Nov-2009 08:26 am (UTC)
Is that seriously Joan?
[info]headcaseheidi 6th-Nov-2009 08:28 am (UTC)
yep!
[info]jessicamariek 6th-Nov-2009 08:27 am (UTC)
In before people going "OMG TV TROPES!!111" :P
[info]headcaseheidi 6th-Nov-2009 08:29 am (UTC)
in all honesty i had that link narrowed down between tv tropes or this

[info]jessicamariek 6th-Nov-2009 08:32 am (UTC)
I figured on TVT or some other list of said copshows. :P
[info]ultravlntmoloko 6th-Nov-2009 08:47 am (UTC)
Fuck yesssssssssss love this movie idk what tropes are though
[info]sonjamillicent 6th-Nov-2009 06:47 pm (UTC)
I have to force myself not to click that link or else I'll be sucked in for God knows how long and I already spent like an hour on it today. DON'T DO IT, SELF.

Holy lord, he looks so much like Tom there.
[info]superbeacon Re: ~never forget season two~6th-Nov-2009 01:13 pm (UTC)
It's sad that I didn't even know that the good Father was Colin Hanks. Jeez, I've been so off lately...
[info]easily_amused87 Re: ~never forget season two~6th-Nov-2009 03:29 pm (UTC)
the way mad men fits with mean girls so well is almost serendipitous
[info]sonjamillicent Re: ~never forget season two~6th-Nov-2009 06:48 pm (UTC)
Chlamydia! K... L... A...
[info]aggie_zag 6th-Nov-2009 08:29 am (UTC)
I have never seen an episode of Mad Men, but she is in my top five for hot ladies.
[info]albion_lass 6th-Nov-2009 05:42 pm (UTC)
the show won't disappoint, she's a foxy vixen! don't you want to see her in action? :p
[info]mindofthebeheld 6th-Nov-2009 08:32 am (UTC)
If Betty pussies out of leaving Don, I'm just going to be forced to continue to cry for her during every episode.

But I don't want her to marry that dude who works for Rockefeller either.

[info]typhoid_m_a_r_y 6th-Nov-2009 08:36 am (UTC)
I don't know why but I liked that young dude that "fancied" her. DON is really boring me now.
[info]mindofthebeheld 6th-Nov-2009 08:37 am (UTC)
What young dude? The neighbour's son?
[info]colfer 6th-Nov-2009 11:34 am (UTC)
the guy at the stables? he was adorable.
[info]thebigquiet 6th-Nov-2009 08:50 am (UTC)
I don't think she will puss out. They wouldn't just have her threatening to leave him twice and then not follow through both times.

Don is such a royal prick, but her leaving him just makes me so sad because he's finally showed her his true self and you could just see that he was more in love with her than ever. And for her it's just over.
[info]headcaseheidi 6th-Nov-2009 08:54 am (UTC)
i honestly think she would've left him last season if she hadn't gotten pregnant with gene
[info]inflixion 6th-Nov-2009 09:13 am (UTC)
I don't think she'll leave him; I bet something will happen to Don that'll make her stay.
[info]reforzado 6th-Nov-2009 08:32 am (UTC)
DID I HEAR JOSH LYMAN?

also i love colin hanks
[info]danceprincess20 6th-Nov-2009 03:15 pm (UTC)
Right? All I could think was Bradley Whitford, Bradley Whitford, Bradley Whitford!
[info]thatsthekey 6th-Nov-2009 04:44 pm (UTC)
I love them both!!<333
Now I need a West Wing/Roswell marathon..
[info]regeener 6th-Nov-2009 08:33 am (UTC)
iono, in season two I totally slashed Father Gill and Peggy. FUCK GOD, his hippy ass needs to get with that HBIC, not Duck (ew).
[info]mindofthebeheld 6th-Nov-2009 08:34 am (UTC)
Why does everyone hate Duck?
[info]brokenseas 6th-Nov-2009 08:36 am (UTC)
He left his dog alone on the streets of New York so he could become an alcoholic again in peace.
[info]peopleareshapes 6th-Nov-2009 08:38 am (UTC)
Because he is disgusting.
[info]headcaseheidi 6th-Nov-2009 08:40 am (UTC)
[info]regeener 6th-Nov-2009 08:40 am (UTC)
he was dickish in season 2 (although I haven't watched it in a while so I need to watch it again) and mostly he's the last person I expected Peggy to get with (she can do better!)

Also he let Chauncey free in the STREETS OF NEW YORK. D:
[info]regeener EDIT:6th-Nov-2009 08:43 am (UTC)
real people drive to a parking lot and set their dogs free that way.

[info]easily_amused87 6th-Nov-2009 03:30 pm (UTC)
duck is the epitome of skeeze
[info]jackiemust_die 6th-Nov-2009 08:42 am (UTC)
Colin Hanks, you will always be Alex from Roswell to me.
ilu!
[info]thatsthekey 6th-Nov-2009 04:45 pm (UTC)
yessss
[info]excelente 6th-Nov-2009 08:44 am (UTC)
They did him so dirty on Roswell. Oh the tears I shed for Alex.

I like his little cameo in That Thing You Do escorting Liv Tyler's character into the show.
[info]seducethesinger 6th-Nov-2009 10:12 am (UTC)
I fucking know right! Can't believe I cried for Alex. *facepalm*
[info]wackypinkbunny 6th-Nov-2009 08:45 am (UTC)
Damn, I was hoping for him to make another appearance on Mad Men.
