Gokey Gone Country?

Danny Gokey was back home in Milwaukee, WI for a Habitat for Humanity event, and he told FOX 6 News that he would be meeting soon with 19 and Sony Nashville.

A country career for Danny? He didn’t sing much country on the show, and has talked in interviews about wanting to make an R&B and Latin flavored record, but I think Danny’s best chance at success in mainstream music is probably the country route, where Danny’s conservative Christian values and his old-school gospel vibe would be embraced.

The public responded well to his performance of Rascall Flatts “What Hurts the Most”, so maybe he can pull it off. That is, if his heart is in it.

I really hate how everyone always hates on Danny. He's a genuinely good person with lots of talent, just because he's not ~your cup of tea doesn't make him a "douche". But this could just be me being defensive because I knew his late wife Sophie.

i hear she was v nice and in the pics of them together they look v cute and he seems genuinely nice, that being said on the show he came off as a smug douchey ass hole. i doubt he's that irl but you know, that's how must of us will always see him because of how he was on the show

He is extremely nice and I think some of that was editing on American Idols behalf and lets face it.. when the competition began everyone was naming him the winner. Of course it went to his head a bit, IDK. I think it's just that I can't be detached from the issue because I feel it personally. I need to learn to ~ignore the comments about him.

I don't think people hate on Danny because of his style of music. If you've frequented some of the other boards, a lot of the dislike comes from his hostility towards Kradison.

Examples: His smug expression on the cameras when Allison got booted off and she was doing her final performance. When he tried to make Kris purposely look bad during their duet by ignoring him, even though Kris covered Danny's mistake of forgetting lines. The backstage video that came out where Michael and Danny were talking about being good buds, and them making comments about how they liked each other in the "right" and "godly" way, which was an obvious attack on Adam's sexuality. His interview on LKL where he bluntly told Seacrest that he knew Kris was going to win, and then Kris calling him a jerk on air.

I personally believe that Danny isn't trying to be a "douche," but I think he's socially awkward and doesn't understand that a lot of the things he says comes off as offensive.

ugh, stop trying to make danny gokey happen. three people MAX make it from each season of idol and I have already decided those three are adam, kris and allison and i get what i want so psh. i am profoundly sorry but there is no room on the ark for gokey...and even if there was i would smoosh in shoop anoop and caw caw corkrey. maybe he can be on i'm a celebrity get me out of here. he can be an idol reject like sanjaya, a fundie like the blonde baldwin, a cry baby like patty and a crazy bitch like janice, all rolled into one and then some d-lister can smash those fucking lame ass glasses onto the jungle floor.

good. eff the haters, i love danny's voice. my favorite performance of his was when he sang 'jesus, take the wheel'. i hope it's not all christian country and instead is regular country with some christian influences like most country songs. i'm excited for this.
