Rumors about what happened during Britney's supposed comeback at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards have been aflutter like a butterfly on Aderall -- and now answers are here.
A new book, "Britney: Inside the Dream" by Steve Dennis, exposes the truth behind the past few years of Brit's life. From custody battles to head-shaving antics and broken hearts, the book provides an inside look at the incidents that preceded each Britney breakdown.
The Mirror exclusively has excerpts from the book -- including how booze, confusion and a famous ex led to a chaotic spiral that fueled her horrendous MTV performance.
The book says that "Britney herself managed to ruin the most important performance of her life. Hours before the show, her anxieties raged. She decided it was a good idea to start drinking tequila shots to calm her nerves - one after the other."
From the first drop of Patron, the madness just seemed to twirl out control. It seems that Justin Timberlake decided to drop by to say good luck. Nice right? Apparently "he was cool and couldn't have been friendlier, but that wigged her out more," says a backstage source. "She was freaking out over the littlest thing."

The story goes on to reveal numerous dressing room mishaps, like the unexpected last-minute firing of hair and makeup team members and meltdowns of gigantic proportions. Then as things seemed to settle, Britney got dressed alone and decided to wear the infamous black bra, black hot pants and fishnets instead of the planned Trish Somerville one piece.
She was then rushed on stage by an MTV assistant, leaving no time for her team to step in. The rest is pop history. Now, as Britney's "Circus" tour raps up, it's nice to know there is a happy ending to an otherwise grim storybook. I guess you have to be cocooned by yucky before you can spread your new wings, right Brit?

In the new book, Britney: Inside The Dream, author Steve Dennis says Britney shaved her hair off in 2007 to spite her mother and management, who forced Britney into a terrible life of international stardom and untold riches. The Sun reports:
"The head-shaving had little do with self-loathing, more a loathing against the public persona that had defined her until then. "What few people knew was that Britney was rowing with her mum, LYNNE, who seemed to be incessantly reminding her of her motherly duties and responsibilities. "What made Britney most irate was that her mama kept mentioning how her ex Kevin wasn't forever on the town. This was all being viewed as controlling behaviour. "The head-shaving moment was the culmination of an escalating rebellion, heightened by heartbreak over her divorce and custody battle, that can be traced back to 2004 when Britney decided she no longer wished to conform, be controlled or take instruction." Steve adds: "What better way to rid herself of the performer's identity than by losing the very hair she famous for - sabotaging the act to free the person?"

the whole lutfi thing was like mind-blowing, it was sad.
every time i think of that situation, i just get really angry :(
it's making me depressed
she's back ON TOP ok?
OT. but does anyone have custom content for the sims 3? i dont get it. i know its BRAND NEW so nobody has created anything amazing yet but are we even going to be able to use custom content? my sims are soooo damn ugly.
so are we just waiting it out people make stuff for us to download?
she's been through so much shit and she's just trying to get back to her old self
And are her parents really that bad? I know that her mom is a total stage mom, but if not for them, she'd be dead by now, or at the very least Sam Lufti would still have her high out of her mind, running around Hollywood with her bloody tampon sticking out and a look of total bewilderment on her face.
Idk maybe because I'm used to parents being controlling and honestly a lot of it is because it's easier for parents to control their kids as a way of teaching/raising kids. There's no guide book to parenting. Her parents might've done a lot wrong but they do right where it counts.
Like Lynn stepping on Britney with the kids? I'm sure that was her way of making Britney get her shit together because she didn't want to see her lose her kids.
And with Jamie now as Britney's like... guardian, he'd rather be looking out on her every move than allow Sam and Adnan back into Britney's life.
Idk I don't see them as evil as people try to make them out to be tbqh.
they act as though giving her busy work will cure her of any emotional, psychological, and mental problems that she has. busy work just delays those things, it doesn't cure them. if they really cared, they'd let her take time off and focus on her and be in some sort of emotional/mental health facility.
i think it's bad ass and it made me like her more.
she could have spun that story to be so positive rather than let everyone write her off as insane
damn and im not even a britney fan
omg i would beg my mom for $5 and try to get something cool, but it would always cost like $6 :-\
yeah, ok.
nobody knew what was going on and all these supposed experts like dr. phil. dr. drew and fucktard panelists were giving their diagnosis and perspectives of what was happening to her.
