Mackenzie Phillips will be a "sober coach" on Celebrity Rehab; Celeb Rehab 3 cast is announced



"Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" -- the show that exploits celebrities who are battling addiction -- is now exploiting a celebrity who has already battled addiction.

We've learned Mackenzie Phillips -- who entered rehab for the 10th time in September 2008 -- will appear on the third season of the show as a "sober coach." Phillips was busted for cocaine in August 2008, but had the majority of the charges against her dropped -- and the final charge will be dropped when she completes a drug diversion program. By all indications, Mackenzie has done a complete 180 and says the arrest saved her life.

The role of "sober coach" on the show was previously played by Gary Busey -- and we know how that turned out.

And we know the other new cast of characters. Let's just say Mackenzie has her work cut out for her.

it can take two times that for other people but that shouldn't take away from their sobriety what so ever. Its an everyday battle not just 10 battles.

Agreed, but she's only been sober for 10 months. I don't have a lot of experience with substance abuse, but I feel like a sober coach should have multiple years of sobriety, not less than a year.

um the best sober coaches are reformed addicts and it normally takes that many times before you get sober.

some tool from the bad girls club ran into him on the streets of hollywood and took him back to the bad girls club mansion and fucked him, and yes he did have the same hair.

Um random sidenote: I got in to my car today to head to the gym, and there were two random napkins that said "I'm in Gryffindor" on my dashboard. I suspect my father, but truth be told...it really was the weirdest thing I've encountered in awhile.

Why is she a sober coach, when she was just busted last August? Can't they find someone who's been sober, say, 5 years, 10 years to coach? It's like the blind leading the blind.
