FLORIDA KISS FM PROGRAMMING DIRECTOR DENIES BROADCAST ANNOUNCING PATRICK SWAYZE'S DEATH
FLORIDA KISS FM PROGRAMMING DIRECTOR KEN BOSEN: ABSOLUTELY NO REPORT OF PATRICK SWAYZE'S DEATH
ONTD has spoken on the phone with Ken Bosen, the programming director for WKIS FM, and can exclusively report that previous reports of his station's announcement of Patrick Swayze's death are CATEGORICALLY FALSE.
Mr. Bosen stated that he had talked to anyone and everyone that could have had something to do with a broadcast of this nature, and told me that he can say with 100% confidence that no such report ever came from the radio station.
Mr. Bosen's statement to ONTD appears to proves false rumors that have been circulating through Internet circles for the last hour or so that Patrick Swayze has died. At the very least, Mr. Bosen's statement proves false the rumors (like the one below) that KISS FM broadcast a report of Mr. Swayze's passing.

I'll update this post if needed. For now, though, it appears that the reports of Patrick Swayze's death were false.

Update, 12:52 PM EDT:
I just spoke with a woman working in PEOPLE's news bureau regarding the report that Patrick Swayze's representative had contacted the magazine in order to dispel rumors of the actor's death and reaffirm that he is, in fact, alive.
She told me that she was not allowed to comment on "stories that [they] may be putting up" and was extremely reluctant to give any additional information. She would also neither confirm nor deny that the magazine had been contacted by a representative for Mr. Swayze, saying that she was "not the person to confirm or deny anything at this point."
She asked me if it was ok if someone got back to me once more information was available, and then requested my name and phone number. After providing her with the information, I tried once more to get some sort of statement and was fed the same B.S. line that she had previously recited a half a dozen times.
Her voice was pleasant.

Don't believe the rumors: Patrick Swayze is "alive and well."
The Internet exploded this morning with rumors that the Dirty Dancing star had lost his public battle with pancreatic cancer, but the actor's rep has quickly corrected the record.
"This is to confirm that Patrick Swayze did not pass away this morning contrary to severely reckless reports stemming from a radio station in Jacksonville, Fla.," his publicist says in a statement to E! News.
"Patrick is alive, well and is enjoying his life and he continues to respond to treatment."
The 56-year-old Beast star has been dogged by rumors of failing health since he made public his diagnosis last year.
