British Air refuse service to Good Charlotte lead singer because...

Not even drunk! Wonder if they'll let him on w/o covering up. Oh, the intrigue...

ETA: for those wondering what his ink is of HERE IS A LIST but no pics. And he doesn't show 'em off too much anymore but

what I'm guessing is visible wherever he is. Thanks to thelittlevoice

ETA2: as of 4:07 a.m. CST, Madden landed in Lisbon but no word as to whether he traveled sleeved or not.

weird, is he flying business class?
inspired 26th-Apr-2009 01:04 pm (UTC)
That's what I'm wondering. I usually fly BA, and I've flown wearing the most inappropriate things. I have even flown in pyjamas before, LOL.
jessashoutbaby 26th-Apr-2009 03:51 pm (UTC)
I've flown BA before, and I wore pajamas as well LOL. The classiest I'll go for a flight is sweatpants. I do not fuck around, I need to be comfortable.
new_yawk_punk 26th-Apr-2009 05:11 pm (UTC)
I guess they don't mind as much if you're in economy (if you were), but maybe they didn't want Joel to upset the richies he'd be sitting next to.

This is why I fly Virgin. They're hipper.
sapporonoodles 26th-Apr-2009 06:08 am (UTC)
omg i would make hell for british air is they didn't let me on the flight because of my tattoos.

then again, mine aren't nearly as god awful as his, so...
latently 26th-Apr-2009 06:08 am (UTC)

who goes to a church dressed like that anyway?
indie_star Re: Lady GaGa was almost arrested for wearing leather in russia.26th-Apr-2009 07:14 am (UTC)
Did she try to go to a church in a leather thong??
new_yawk_punk 26th-Apr-2009 06:44 am (UTC)
I'm not sure. A restaurant can turn someone away for not being properly dressed, so maybe an airline can too. Who knows.
__scout 26th-Apr-2009 07:44 am (UTC)
no its not. most airlines (even here in the usa) have rules about dress. even in economy class. they dont always enforce it strongly but sometimes you will run into someone with a stick up their ass who will then point out the printed rules to you on your ticket or receipt.
teasailor 26th-Apr-2009 06:36 pm (UTC)
Actually it's not. Any private business can refuse to service anyone. It would be illegal if they didn't refund his ticket though.

Not saying it's right, just saying it's not illegal.
zigazazu 26th-Apr-2009 06:09 am (UTC)
he should fight for his rights to be fug altogether
sapporonoodles 26th-Apr-2009 06:21 am (UTC)
ikr his tattoos would be the least of my worries. if i saw him coming on my plane i'd be like, "oh hale no, donchu be playin your awful emo pop up in this bitch, mr. madden."

bluedanman14 26th-Apr-2009 06:10 am (UTC)
Wow. That's all bad!
numbereleven 26th-Apr-2009 06:10 am (UTC)
What the what!

Do planes have dress codes now? I'm baffled.
vdoeschallenge 26th-Apr-2009 06:11 am (UTC)
yeah some airlines actually have dress codes, but I've never heard any this strict except for first class or offensive tattoos. idk what his are of so...
causeiwontsing 26th-Apr-2009 03:53 pm (UTC)
his tattoos are not offensive.

unless you're against christianity.
winniechili 26th-Apr-2009 06:15 am (UTC)
i remember some girls got kicked off a flight a while back cause they were dressed hoochily (even though I think it was just short skirts) and it was a big deal.
piecesofalice 26th-Apr-2009 07:10 am (UTC)
I've been asked to cover my tatts for a flight, too, and I'm no-where as covered as him.
jillirific 26th-Apr-2009 12:02 pm (UTC)
dr. phil had someone on a while ago who was wearing a tanktop and a short skirt on a plane and was told to cover up.

she said all she wanted was an apology and then she wouldn't sue. dr. phil read out a kind apology sent from the CEO of the airline and who also offered her something like 10 free trips. she then said she would never fly their airline again and that she was still going to sue. dr. phil was so pissed and baffled.

only the first line is relevant to your comment, i just love that story.
teasailor 26th-Apr-2009 06:38 pm (UTC)
yes they do. they don't always enforce it, but some people do.
killrockst4rs 27th-Apr-2009 07:57 am (UTC)
i was flying standby and there's a dress code. they tried to tell me i couldn't get on the plane one time unless i took my nosering out. it's literally the tiniest thing in the world.
incuvana 26th-Apr-2009 06:10 am (UTC)
That's why you never leave America JOEL.

lol wut
luvherbones 26th-Apr-2009 06:13 am (UTC)
a dress code? you'd think with the way the industry is going they'd be happy to let anyone who could afford to pay sit there.
abiding 26th-Apr-2009 06:15 am (UTC)
ikr, don't chase the money away!
juteux 26th-Apr-2009 06:18 am (UTC)
i've never heard of that O_O
pleasdtomeetme 26th-Apr-2009 09:07 am (UTC)
Yes, they do. They're usually lenient on paying customers but not so much on employees. Also, you usually only get upgraded if you're dressed proper (ie: military uniform, no sneakers/flip-flops, no jeans, etc.)
carrie1982 26th-Apr-2009 01:57 pm (UTC)
I guess I should be glad I'm so poor I can only fly coach because when I travel it's sweats all the way.
neverfindarhyme 26th-Apr-2009 07:59 am (UTC)

ella5767 ngl26th-Apr-2009 06:25 pm (UTC)
