Video of Jessica Simpson's disastrous performance

While trying to convince the world she's a country singer in Grand Rapids, MI last Thursday, Jessica Simpson made a fatal error -- no lip-synching!

Seen in this video from woodradio.com, nearly every song was a disaster while Simpson fought with her earpiece monitor, mumbled through most of her lyrics, and at one point talked through tears. On a brighter note, she didn't look fat!

You think she did this just for publicity? I mean, I never get the Jessica Simpson hate. She seems like a nice girl, but it just seems the media loves to focus every failure she makes. I doubt she'd do this just to have more people to point and laugh at her.

I feel like with the mom jeans and the 2 belts she was hoping for some she pregnant rumors maybe a star mag cover but it backfired and now hateful bitches won't stop calling her obese

When she gains weight, she tends to wear clothes like that. She's done it before. I just think it's poor fashion decisions.

If she did do this for publicity, I don't she meant for people to make fun of her, but more for sympathy. Like, look how upset I am, I can't even make it through a concert.

they focus on it, because she's so quick to open her mouth and reveal her personal affairs to everyone who will listen.

example: about a month or so ago, people.com had an article about Jessica saying she loved tony romo. umm, that's nice why does anyone care? lol

But that's the stuff they focus on in these interviews. Granted, she's not very interesting, so they turn the questioning about the one thing they know she is famous for and that is her love life.

Apparently Jessica rambles on about Tony Romo in concert every night so it's not just interviewers who ask her about him. If you read the Rascal Flatts concert reviews every single one of them has been rolling their eyes at that and saying she doesn't know how to put on a real concert.

Anyway I don't think her messing up her lyrics is for publicity. That's just how she rolls.

bitch has no shame. her strategy is to stay on peoples' radar no matter how low that takes her. i'm sure she doesn't do pathetic unprofessional shit like that with the sole intention of getting people to pay attention to her but i'm sure she feels at least slightly vindicated that she's still famous enough to get into tabloids.

if you invite the media into your business like the simpsons love to do, they are going to focus on the good AND the bad.

jessica could step out of the spotlight and avoid the criticism, but daddy joe taught her better than that.
