Manchester United players attend Christmas party

Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo led the charge as Manchester United enjoyed Christmas celebrations at London's Movida bar.

The football stars emerged rather bleary-eyed after a long night of partying, stumbling out of the club just after 2.30am in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Carlos Tevez, Rafael da Silva and Paul Scholes were also among the revellers following the side's 0-0-draw with the Spurs, while Jonny Evans, Rio Ferdinand, and Anderson were the last to leave at 4am.

And it seems team rivalry was put aside last night, with Barclays Premier League nemeses William Gallas and Emmanuel Adebayor joining in the festivities at the club.

Of course the presence of football stars brought out many an aspiring WAG, including model Coralie Robinson.

Cristiano Ronaldo prepares for the holidays

RONALD-HO-HO-HO! Man United ace Cristiano is going Christmas crazy—turning his house into a GROTTO and dressing up as SANTA to hand out pressies.

The twinkle-toed star plans a lavish Christmas Day bash and has paid an events firm a whopping £6,000 to decorate his £4 million house — and provide a Father Christmas suit.

His Cheshire mansion now has a 6ft tree in EVERY ROOM, thousands of twinkling lights, hundreds of baubles and a huge nativity scene.

And we’ve put Ronaldo in a Santa suit to show how the 23-year-old Portugal star will look when he gives his gifts to mum Dolores, sisters Telma and Katia and brother Hugo, who are flying in from Madeira and Lisbon.

A pal said: “Cristiano has a big family Christmas planned. He’s been telling the lads he’s got a firm which does a lot of the Old Trafford parties to trim up his house.”

But £120,000-a- week Ronaldo will have to steer clear of the booze on Christmas Day as United take on Stoke City on the 26th.

Boss Alex Ferguson has even ordered players in for light training on Christmas morning.

Ronaldo helps injured youngster

CRISTIANO RONALDO has rescued the career of an injury-stricken teenager by paying his medical bills.

The Manchester United star offered his help after hearing that Joao Santos — an 18-year-old goalkeeper with Amora in Portugal — had suffered cruciate ligament damage in his left knee.

Santos originally intended to finance the operation himself by auctioning a pair of boots given to him by Ronaldo when he was at Sporting Lisbon.

The United winger was so touched when he learned of the youngster’s plight he told him to stop the auction and offered to pay his hospital costs.

So far Ronaldo has paid a £4,000 bill for the operation by leading surgeon Antonio Martins at the Sant Ana Hospital in Cascais.

He is also paying out £200 a week for Santos’ rehabilitation sessions with the Portuguese national team physiotherapist Antonio Gaspar.

A pal of Santos said: “Joao knew Cristiano when he was a very junior player at Sporting and was given the first pair of boots that Ronaldo wore on his debut.

“Joao was going to sell the boots to raise the money but Cristiano wouldn’t let him.

“Ronaldo’s action makes the nation feel very proud of him.”

Amora, second in the Setubal regional league, have serious cash problems and have no masseur or doctor.
