"NO MORE BIG MACS!"

Sir Paul McCartney calls for McDonald's boycott



Sir Paul McCartney has called for fans to boycott McDonald's after the fast food chain used an image of the former Beatle in its Liverpool store.

The singer, who has been a vocal advocate of vegetarianism for 30 years was said to be furious after discovering pictures of the Beatles had been placed prominently in a restaurant in his home town.

His image appeared alongside former band mates John Lennon, Ringo Starr and George Harrison.

Geoff Baker, a spokesman for Sir Paul said: "What sort of morons do McDonald's think Beatles' fans are.

"It's ridiculous and insulting to use images to peddle hamburgers. Fans should boycott Mcdonald's, and not just in Liverpool."

Sir Paul is a staunch supporter of animal rights, president of the Vegetarian Society of Great Britain and an ambassador for People for the Ethical treatment of Animals (PETA). His late wife Linda had her own range of vegetarian foods.

A PETA spokeswoman said: "He became a vegetarian after watching lambs play in a field outside his home and surely would not want anyone to use his likeness to help promote meat.

"We hope anyone who sees his picture on the wall will be reminded that he's a vegetarian and skip the Big Mac for a veggie burger."

A McDonald's spokeswoman said the pictures were to "acknowledge the outstanding contribution the Beatles made to both local and global culture."

Amen. Everyone I know is so *GASP* when I say that, but I HATE them. I did like some of the songs when I watched Across The Universe so obviously it was the members of the band. Though, I still wouldn't call them genius or anything.

I'm glad you said that. No one is allowed to say anything other than PRAISE able the Beatles. I appreciate what they've done for music history BUT I AM SICK OF ALWAYS HEARING ABOUT THEM AND CONSTANTLY HAVING PEOPLE SAY "OMG THIS IS GREAT MUSIC! I believe McDonalds does have veggie burgers depending on what part of the world you're in. Hell, in HK, they have some amazing fried chicken.

i use to be a strict vegetarian and blew it all when i got wasted one night and made my boyfriend take me to mcdonald's for mcnuggets. i'm back on the diet now, but i quit drinking about a month or so ago, so i guess i won't be making any midnight mcnuggets trips. i agree, veggie burgers don't really tastes that great usually.

The thing is, White + Asian will usually mean very ugly or very attractive but if you get two in the same family, one will always be exponentially hotter than the other.

Yes they did, I think it was around 1996-1998. I only remember this because my sister was pregnant at the time and was always craving fries so she'd always buy the bucket. Although the "bucket" was just an oversized drink cup obviously with no lid.

I used to go to a tutoring center right in the same plaza as my local McDonalds and everyone would buy their lunch from there and I remember seeing a girl eating the bucket of fries. So I never got it myself but I believe you! haha.
