guess who i performed with on stage? - a more exciting variation on "guess who i met/saw"
Guess who I played on stage with this past Thursday???

WEEZER!

I got to perform on stage with Weezer this past thursday in Chicago at the All-State Arena, during the Hootenanny set (the first encore) of their concert. The two songs we all collaborated for were "Islands In the Sun" and "Beverly Hills", since they were relatively simple, and easy to learn in a short period of rehearsal time. I ended up performing not one, but two saxophone solos during Beverly Hills - the first one was planned and practiced in rehearsal, which apparently Rivers thought was great because right after I did it he turned and bowed at me. And the second one I was not expecting to do because i'm terrible at improvising, but Rivers ran up to me and wanted me to solo more, so I did.
I was freaking out internally so badly, not only because there were thousands of people watching me, but also because i've idolized weezer (mainly Rivers) for soo long, so being able to perform with them (and have Rivers and the crowd like it) was truly unforgettable. After the song ended he came up to me to shake my hand, woo!! And then when we left the stage, Rivers was just standing there (they were getting ready for encore number 2), so I walked up to him (which is so unlike me) and shook his hand again and just said "I hope i did decently!" and he replied, "You were AMAZING!". So yeah, it was a pretty cool night.
Sorry if this is tl;dr. This is the abridged version, I swear!
And here is the video of my two solos:
