On October 4th 2008 in an interview with All Music, Rihanna confirmed that she is currently in the studio working on her fourth studio album. She stated that.

"I’m currently working on record number four and I’m having so much fun. I’m having so many new experiences and meeting so many new people, it’s amazing".

Rihanna also stated that the album will head in a more Techno Rock direction saying, “I want this album to head in the same direction as Good Girl Gone Bad but with even more edge. The tracks will be less R&B influenced and will have a feel closer to that of, "Disturbia", "Shut Up & Drive" and "Breakin’ Dishes".

Rihanna also stated that she will be writing 3 tracks of the album herself and that they are quite different from her previous work and that one of the tracks will fit into the punk-rock category. She is also studying for a new and more even hot look. A release date for the album has not yet been announced, but it’s probably that it will came out in early 2009
(March/April period).

i feel like they're forcing her to exaggerate her accent which annoys me to no end. She's not a bad singer but they need to stop making her into a bad one just so her voice can sound more foreign.

and she just needs to take 2 years off at least.

i dislike rihanna because she comes off as arrogant and insincere. she basically took fefe's style and sexed it up. fefe did it better to me because it was more believable. she didn't put on a studded belt because she wanted to play that role. she actually is into that scene. thats why when rihanna does it or attempts to, it comes off as fake and trying too hard. not saying that she's not into the scene either but its hard to go from 'pon de replay' to 'goth rocker chic' and it be believable. she thinks that because she dyed her hair black and cut it short, that made her edgy and soooo different from everyone else which it didn't. idk, it sometimes seems like she thinks she discovered something new and is somehow better than the rest because of it.

1. she tries too hard to be "edgy"
2. she can't sing(her voice makes me want to kill puppies)
3. she can't dance
4. she has no stage presence
5. she's even more boring in interviews
6. I don't think her songs are all that catchy

Because she tries too hard to be different and edgy. Also, she has to release a new song every five seconds and can't seem to take a break. Normally, I can tolerate her music but too much of her around is simply annoying.

She cannot sing and for as awesome as her songs are, her performances suck so hard. she has no stage presence.

I used to like her, but I think she's taken this "I'm so edgy" thing too far. It seems like just a gimmick and that it's not her true self at all. Plus she's a horrible performer.

Which further proves, similar to Britney, Rihanna is manufactured. It's not as though Rihanna is writing her own songs, so it's just her people pushing more out of her while she's still "hot"/relevant.
