Iggy Pop enjoys an uplifting stroll through Cannes in his customised Crocs
Dubbed the Godfather of Punk and known for his energetic stage performances, Iggy Pop is the last person you'd expect to see opting for sensible shoes.
But after injuring himself during a London gig last month, it is perhaps understandable that the Stooges frontman would want to swap his flamboyant wardrobe and bikers boots for something more comfortable.
The punk rocker, real name James Osterberg, was spotted wearing his specially-customised black Crocs as he holidayed on the French Riviera.
Accompanied by a pretty female companion, Iggy looked a world away from his bare-chested and skinny jeans stage ensemble as he strolled through Cannes in an orange t-shirt, board shorts and his Crocs.
With his right leg 1.5 inches shorter than his left, Iggy has incorporated a stacked heel to his right foot to give him equal balance.
Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine last year, Iggy said: 'I have one leg about an inch and a half shorter than the other. When I was thirteen, I was run over by a big guy playing junior high football, and the right leg ended up a quarter-inch shorter. By my midtwenties, it was a half-inch.
'Then in the Eighties, I had no money and was taking packed economy flights everywhere, night after night. The combination of that schedule and a fall I took dancing on an amplifier left me with my spine twisted and a slight limp.
