DeNiro quits "Edge of Darkness"

Robert Deniro has quit his role on Mel Gibson's comeback film "Edge of Darkness". Local news reports cite a blow up after a scene of DeNiro hitting a golf ball out of a sand trap took 20 takes.
Arguments between DeNiro and the director, Martin Campbell have been reported.
Shooting began on the film, last month, but De Niro only arrived on set this past week. The film makers plan to shoot around his character’s scenes until they cast an actor to replace him.

Robert DeNiro: still smoking hot after all these years.

(and still kind of crazy -he scares me in every one of his movies).

Good. The last thing Mel Gibson deserves is more money.

Srsly. He doesn't deserve Robert DeNiro either.

He probably quit because Mel Gibson is crazy.

i (like most, i bet) just jumped to the conclusion that the "creative differences" were really just mel gibson. who knows, maybe it still is.

Mel Gibson's career should really stay dead. Screw that dude, seriously. DeNiro is too good for him.

Even if he's short (apparently 5'9''), I still think of Robert De Niro as 6'3''. I always will. He just radiates tall.
_xxtom 8th-Sep-2008 09:19 pm (UTC)
Thats because Deniro is too good for Mel Gibson

I keep getting emails about castings for this movie since they're shooting in Boston but I am just too lazy to go

and I don't want to be near Mel Gibson

Is this a film version of the BBC's 'Edge of Darkness'?
I hope they don't fuck it up
That was one excellent drama

*googles*

Holy shit! It is!

Guys this film may be made of win - even without DeNiro

Wii golf pisses the hell out of me every time. The real thing would've taken more out of me.

I watched The Awakenings for the first time in my AP Biology class today and I cried like a baby.
Such a good movie! And I love Robert DeNiro.

You don't make Robert DeNiro do 20 takes.

They were shooting that in Boston while I was I there this weekend. No De Niro (obviously) but Mel was around.

Mel Gibson? Edge Of Darkness? Well so much for one of my all time favorite TV series.

*Goes and cries over her screenplay*
