celeb freckles are ~in style
Vogue declares that freckles are amazing and cites various celebrities that have embraced their freckles, including:
Lindsay Lohan, Cynthia Nixon, Julianne Moore, and models Lily Cole and Alice Burdeu
"Freckles were once something stars tried to disguise, but they've finally made it to the forefront of fashion," the fashion bible says.
Famous frecklies Lindsay Lohan, Cynthia Nixon, Julianne Moore, supermodel Lily Cole and Australia's Next Top Model winner Alice Burdeu are some of the stars embracing their natural beauty and letting their freckles shine through.
Freckled faces also get a big thumbs-up from the fellas.
"Freckles should be . . . embraced, touched, kissed," said Alex Bilmes, fashion editor of mens fashion mag GQ.
"Freckles are a provocation: if I can see that some of you is freckled, I cant help wondering about the rest.
There are two main types of freckles simple freckles and freckles caused by sunburn.
Simple freckles, which tend to be inherited, are usually small, tan and round and are caused by a heavy deposit of melanin at one spot in the skin.
Some experts caution that the freckle fad might cause people to overlook the warning signs of skin damage.
While many freckled celebrities are undoubtedly beautiful, we need to be cautious in promoting this as a trend, said dermatology expert Jane Lewis.
