Gary Dourdan: Guilty, But No Jail



Gary Dourdan pleaded guilty to two of the felony possession charges against him and won't have to serve any jail time.

The first charged against him, for having heroin, was dropped. He pleaded guilty to the possession of coke and ecstasy charges.

Dourdan will enter a treatment program and has to complete 16 classes.

I'm with you there. The penal system in the states seems to equate drugs with homicide, when in fact it's closer to suicide.

Could even make an argument that Gary's done a fair bit of PSA work already, given his character's history of addiction.

Actually, CSI: is still well ahead of the two spin-offs. And in CA you don't get jail time for a first offense.

too light? he was in possession of DRUGS. the end. anything more than what he got would be cruel and unusual punishment. he wasn't driving or babysitting so who the fuck cares. it's his body.

I think it was too light. Only because if you add in his violent tendencies (ex-girlfriend and photog spazz), I don't think he's actually spent any jail time.

Plus he wasn't carrying around baby aspirin, those were some hard drugs. At the very least he should have to do the treatment and have probation time tacked on.
