Jay and B getting closer to marriage?
Jay-Z: Bachelor Party in Canada?
A day after applying for a marriage license with Beyoncé Knowles, Jay-Z got his party on after his show in Toronto. The hip-hop king had a private bash at downtown hot spot Lobby, where he had a blast chatting up guests and being surrounded by beautiful women.
"It looked like a bachelor party because soon the doors closed to all but the immediate guests," says a source at the party. "Jay-Z was laughing and happy and talking to everyone around him. It was amazing how many girls were flirting with him, but he was just being nice to everyone." As if Jay-Z's week could get any bigger, the rapper is also expected to sign a 10-year, $150 million deal with concert promoter Live Nation early next week, according to the Associated Press. He reportedly will receive $25 million upfront and another $10 million each for at least three studio albums.
"I’ve turned into the Rolling Stones of hip-hop," Jay-Z (real name: Shawn Corey Carter), 38, told The New York Times, in a front-page story Thursday, of the deal – which also includes $25 million for concert tours and $50 million to finance the rapper's other investments.
The Live Nation news comes four months after Jay-Z left his three-year post as Def Jam president. The rapper isn't the first superstar to sign a ginormous Live Nation contract: U2 inked a reported nine-figure deal last week, following a similar deal with Madonna last year.
