Yes I have. Read a few of the books as well. Theyre lives arent perfect, but they themselves are perfect. In the first book, it was as if Serena was some sort of God.

i think the books are satirical. the show tries to bring the characters down to earth--at least on the shows, there are consequences for their 'debauchery.'
