Lordi, a Finnish band with monster costumes and make up, won the 2006 Eurovision song contest. They also toured the US, being main stage performers at Ozzfest 2007. Now they have a movie out, called "Dark Floors". It is a horror movie that is based on the idea of Mr Lordi, the singer, and director Pete Riski, a childhood friend of Mr Lordi. The movie is about a group of people in a hospital where everyone else suddenly disappears. The movie features the Lordi members as the monsters of the movie, of course. The premiere was in Finland on Feb 2, and was a disappointment in the box office, and was panned by critics However, the production company has high hopes of selling the movie to other countries. So far only Estonia release date,Feb 29, is listed on imdb.
Here's the trailer
Not really new, but I didn't see this posted. Basically, this is apparently just like any other average(bad) clichéd horror movie with the element of having the Lordi members in it. Though, I think the director said that there had to be a cliched plot as the Lordi costumes as cliched as well. Paying respect to the genre, or something. But you gotta love the tagline, "The fear is here". It's like they didn't even try.

For the "What is Eurovision?" people
I'm shocked, to be honest.
get a sense of humor?
Sorry, I only speak Finnish, English, Swedish and some German, not not_kosher.
I'm truly impressed, I have to admit. Not every Tom, Dick and Harry has a plus account. You're ~lj elite~, bb.
I am still regretting not buying the Lordi dustbin they had for sale in Stockmann in Helsinki. Best merchandise ever.
Damn, all I got was a pencil case and candy.
There were dustbins. Too cool. Also notepads and lever arch files XD
Eh that's when I was there too! Definitely there, Stockmann and Sokos XD They're excellent with the homeware, the Finnish. I just wish I'd had a bigger suitcase and more disposable income there ;)
Yes, more money would have been awesome. I came home with way more stuff for my house than clothes or anything else. The girl I was staying with too me to the marimeko (not sure on the spelling of that) stores which was just deadly. And an arikka store, I bought like an entire tablewear set.
Totally. And they were stupidly cheap too. I feel my living room is completely lacking in quality refuse merchandise *sighs*
Argh, Marimekko was like walking into the valley of temptation! Their bags are amazing beyond the world and everything, and that's before even considering the dresses... And the Arabia outlet store with all the porcelain was on my way back to where I was living then and it was a constant ner-ner of everything I could not afford - or that would probably have got broken on the way home! I ended up with a few Moomin mugs... Why is the UK incapable of such awesome crockery? And who knew crockery could be that fun anyway?
lol
lololol
haha.
I'm so bored today, I think i might have to watch that movie.
i was so excited about eurovision last year, but after that bitchman won.. and the few songs that have been announced for this year... i'm already disappointed.
