Screenplay - Juno
LOL

the academy will give screenplay to juno too, only because it has no chance in winning anything else. There were sooo many better screenplays out there.
[info]somechickxoxo 10th-Feb-2008 09:38 pm (UTC)
haha I know. They just couldn't let the movie walk away empty handed.

THIS IS ENGLAND – Mark Herbert/Shane Meadows

This doesn't even make any sense. If best film encompasses all movies from all countries, and a British film won the award, how can it be beat in the British film category by a movie that didn't even make it into the overall best film category??????
[info]lanicita 10th-Feb-2008 10:15 pm (UTC)
ikr? I came to post this too.
[info]enchantress101 10th-Feb-2008 10:40 pm (UTC)
Because the Best British film had the word England in it?
[info]solongsummer24 10th-Feb-2008 11:39 pm (UTC)
lol mos probs.
[info]frozen_jelly 11th-Feb-2008 01:11 am (UTC)
I know this you were making a flippant comment but seriously; This Is England was an amazing film, and the child actor in it was the polar-opposite of the coached, wooden, cute, smiley child actors who usually star in films. It deserved to win that BAFTA.
[info]melina_agape 11th-Feb-2008 12:31 am (UTC)
Well, they are known to do that. When a film of their own is broadly adored and they are aware that it's likely getting Best Film, they vote for something else in the British Film category, just to ~spread the love~.
