LOL
[info]starless02 30th-Oct-2007 06:53 am (UTC)
it's kinda cool that she is the executive producer for this
[info]edie_finneran 30th-Oct-2007 10:33 am (UTC)
Like she had anything to do with the production. Plz, she can hardly eat without getting food all over her face and dress, like she knows anything about producing. They just put those meaningless titles there so that it would seem the manufactured pop artists are "involved" in making the record. It's like giving the sixth song writing credit on a song after an army of professional song writers, as the starlet came up with "ooh baby I love you".
[info]fatpeopleeatme 30th-Oct-2007 12:32 pm (UTC)
they don't "just put" things on there so people will believe shit wtf, that's forbidden.
[info]rumpunch13 30th-Oct-2007 03:03 pm (UTC)
yeah also thought executive producing meant "gave some money" or something of the like. if she actually did something she would be.....~~producer~~
[info]kellydidyourmom 30th-Oct-2007 03:51 pm (UTC)
she only co wrote 2 songs i thought?
[info]jiai1 30th-Oct-2007 05:03 pm (UTC)
Executive producer= she gave $ to help with production costs on this album. I mea, who else would've chipped in $ for this mess? And by mess, I mean over-produced POS. Fun tunes or not, no matter, it's so warped, it doesn't even sound like Britney.
[info]jiai1 30th-Oct-2007 05:04 pm (UTC)

Yeah. She's the one who told the REAL producers, "Make me sound good, y'all! 'Kay, I'm goin' for my Starbucks run now."

[info]bumilla9999 this doesn't make sense30th-Oct-2007 06:58 am (UTC)
ok. so i haven't heard the disc in it's entirety but i have a hard time believing that this is "her best CD ever!" if there is ANY truth to that statement pop music should diaf. y/n?
[info]righteous_twist Re: this doesn't make sense30th-Oct-2007 07:01 am (UTC)
The album sucks bb, sry 2 say. The only thing relatively catchy is Gimme More, and the entire album is so over produced it's ridiculous. Her voice is so low in the mix it might as well not be there at all. :( I miss old Brit.
[info]bizarrre Re: this doesn't make sense30th-Oct-2007 07:04 am (UTC)
srsly i can barely hear her in why should i be sad
[info]underworld Re: this doesn't make sense30th-Oct-2007 07:05 am (UTC)
wrong
[info]bumilla9999 Re: this doesn't make sense30th-Oct-2007 07:14 am (UTC)
mte. brit should learn to DJ so that 1. no one will expect her to do anything real with her voice, 2. she can put out all the ridiculous dance music she wants and 3. she never has to "perform" live again.
[info]for_your_flaws as if I'm defending britney right now though30th-Oct-2007 02:11 pm (UTC)
it's britney spears. did you honestly expect her to have balads and shit on this album?

it's a pop album-- take it for what it is. it's gonna be over-produced but if you get over that you might actually enjoy it.
[info]bizarrre Re: this doesn't make sense30th-Oct-2007 07:07 am (UTC)
personally i think ppl are convincing themselves that they like it just to be a part of something. its not that good.
[info]listenupyall Re: this doesn't make sense30th-Oct-2007 07:14 am (UTC)
it's pretty good. it's my 2nd favorite britney album though. in the zone ftw.
[info]dirtyknife Re: this doesn't make sense30th-Oct-2007 07:14 am (UTC)
YES. Hell, I'm not even a Britney fan but I'd much rather listen to Slave 4 U or any of her other older tracks than this garbage. It's so overproduced that's not even music anymore. And she sounds like a robot.
[info]okiedohkiepokie Re: this doesn't make sense30th-Oct-2007 07:23 am (UTC)
it is pretty good. I don't actually like most of her old stuff, but this is a CD I like. I know it's overproduced, but what isn't these days?
[info]soupa_star Re: this doesn't make sense30th-Oct-2007 07:30 am (UTC)
I dont think its her best cd ever but I really like ooh ooh baby, piece of me and hot as ice. I hate gimme more though everytime I hear that song I want freaking scream. I really wanted to hate this album but some of the songs are just too damn catchy.
[info]antique_faery Re: this doesn't make sense30th-Oct-2007 07:39 am (UTC)
It's definitely not my favorite, but I personally think it's still great. I actually understand why someone would think this is her best. Seriously, there's not one song I don't like and a lot of her fans think the same thing. It's a quality pop cd.
[info]alchimie_amour Re: this doesn't make sense30th-Oct-2007 07:41 am (UTC)
It's all relative. If any other pop starlet were putting this out, it wouldn't get half the attention. So for a Britney Spears album it's really good.
[info]romancenoir Re: this doesn't make sense30th-Oct-2007 09:40 am (UTC)
I'm coming from the angle of someone who bought Britney's first CD and the "Britney" cd where there was way too much filler. But I like this album. Granted, I only really love five of the tracks, but for me, this album is the best of her "career". There aren't any of the bland-as-hell filler songs that padded out her previous records.
[info]despedida Re: this doesn't make sense30th-Oct-2007 12:08 pm (UTC)
to me its her best album. considering that i can listen to the whole thing without skipping but there are some tracks i dont care for. why do i feel so sad and perfect lover. the rest are ace.

idk just listen to it... whether its clips, legal streams, hell illegal... i think its worth a listen to establish ur own opinion.
[info]oneinamillian Re: this doesn't make sense30th-Oct-2007 01:07 pm (UTC)
Tbh I’ve never been a Britney ~fan~ and I wouldn’t even call myself one now. But I can honestly say that I’m able to listen to this CD without skipping any of the songs. There’s no boring/bland filler songs on it and its just a good CD to workout/shake your ass to. I’m not looking for deep ~profound~ pieces of art…im just looking for fun songs which is what she’s good at.

Bottom line…to each his/her own.
[info]jrh19782002 Re: this doesn't make sense30th-Oct-2007 01:25 pm (UTC)
the songs are ok but its just to much dance club music. where is all her slow songs at like in her other cds.
[info]loafingoaf Re: this doesn't make sense30th-Oct-2007 02:42 pm (UTC)
I think it is her most consistent cd, besides the lame Why Should I Be Sad song, and in that sense it is her best. The songs aren't original or unique at all, nor did she take any risks, but it is fun, and every song is enjoyable. But as far as best album, In the Zone is still my favorite, this would be 2nd. I am really disappointed she didn't put Everybody and Get Back on the American version since those are two of the best tracks.
[info]sparklingsatine Re: this doesn't make sense30th-Oct-2007 05:40 pm (UTC)
I've never been a Britney fan (I've always preferred Xtina because she can actually sing) but I really like the new album. the songs are catchy and remind me of late '90s Euro-pop.
[info]senorita__ Re: this doesn't make sense30th-Oct-2007 05:46 pm (UTC)
its her best cd ever, mostly bc it has a lot of consistency in its trance-y like beats.. as opposed to her other cd's, which had 1 or 2 catchy songs, and the rest far too cheesey for anyone to stomach.

it's by no means THE greatest cd ever, not at all, but it's not awful.
[info]victory_goddess Re: this doesn't make sense30th-Oct-2007 05:47 pm (UTC)
Idgi either, and I'm a huge fan of overproduced Europop and techno type stuff. There's just nothing interesting on this disc and the songs aren't even catchy. So far, Danja's got nothing on Timberland, even though I'm sick of hearing Timbe's beats on every other song on the radio, I still find myself singing along to them, not the case for this.

In the Zone was by far the peak of her career.
[info]love_potion9 30th-Oct-2007 06:58 am (UTC)
Everytime I see her in those fedora pictures, she reminds me of this chick I used to hang out with who wore nasty gross fedoras ALL THE TIME. No matter where we were, no matter what we were doing, she would plonk a awkward looking mismatched fedora on her head like a damn toddler just learning how to dress and would walk out the door like she was hot shit.
